Installed flush mount LED turn signals on front, a rear brake light modulator, a K&N air filter and a new turn signal relay. Oh, and I washed the fairings and bike with the fairings off. Cleaner than she's been since new. Whew.

Kept on keeping on with my project, so I chopped that ugly ass pre-gen fender, assembled the rear wheel well and ordered an integrated signals kit.

I changed the coolant over to Engine Ice after draining the old coolant and even running water through the system.

Soft bags, move rear signals

Kay, so, my bike is a commuter for me. I don't give two rats asses (much) what it looks like. But as a commuter I've got to be able to carry some stuff (rain suit, bag o' cheeto's...) and I had this ginormous set of throw overs off an old bike in the shed for years. They were big when they were on my Meanstreak, on the Ninjette, well, I have no words.

But in order to get them to fit I had to move the rear signals. Saw the mod about moving the rear signals up to the vacant pods in the tail section. To much work for me.

So I busted out the drill and and step bit. Unbolted the signals, and the rear side reflectors, 2 minutes later I'd enlarged the holes to accept the signal stocks into the space formerly occupied by the reflectors. Didn't have to lengthen the wires or anything. 20 minutes after that the bags are on.

The bike looks like it's ready for the next Iron Butt Rally.

Just thought of another benefit, if I drop the bike, chances are the bags will act as sliders. Seriously, after you've run a bike with a bit of storage, you really miss it when you don't have it!

... Hmm.. I wonder how hard it'd be to mount up my Givi....

I installed the RAM camera mount yesterday...mounted it on the left handlebar and took a test video. Great mount thus far, very minimal camera shake, and it's high enough so the lens is above the wind screen but then it picks up all the wind noise. I need to find a way to stick some foam over the mic. I'm gonna try mounting it directly in front of the speedo today when I get home and see if that works and if it interferes with the handlebars or the gauges at all. I'll put pics and stuff later if anyone wants to see.

took my $12 windscreen for a ride on I-95, works great! doin 90mph barely felt a breeze on my helmet. really dark so full tuck i gotta keep my eyes just above screen, but i was wearing sunglasses under my helmet too so that could have been why it was tuff to see thru too.

How do you like the bar end mirrors? I'm so torn if I should get them or not. But I absolutely love they way your bike works!

Also what turn signals did you use?

And I ordered my wind screen too a couple days ago!

the bar end mirrors and the flushmounts i got from my local cycle gear.. love the mirrors over the stock ones.. get a better view of whats behind you, and makes as a blind spot mirror. the flushmounts i just grabbed what i thought i could sink into the stock hole in the fairing. took a little fabbing up a washer to make it fit cause they sunk in a little too far but now i got them sticking out just enough to see from the front.
