In the attached pdf giving some informations about the weight of aftermarket wheels from what I found in the web and also measured my own oem wheels (w/o bearings and everything else except valves and balancing weights 15 grams).
My aftermarket wheels (Power Racing) from Indonesia together are app. 3 kg heavier than the oem's. Maybe others can jump in and give their infos too. At least to look for the weight of rims is the half way only, since we also should take a look for that value of the tires because they are the most outside weight. Here are the weight informations I found and please keep in mind that the weight shown is the average weight for Pirelli tires (the oem should be around 0.5 kg+ heavier). 110/70R17 = 3.691 kg 130/70R17 = 4.740 kg 140/70R17 = 4.900 kg 120/60R17 = 3.778 kg 150/60R17 = 4.947 kg 160/60R17 = 5.774 kg Last futzed with by Somchai; July 13th, 2014 at 09:32 PM. |

wheels . . .
bigger wheels weigh more than smaller wheels, tires equally so.

cool and entertaining information....
my 1995 ninja 250 has 16 rims. I assume that is EOM.... was thinking of swapping to 17 inch rims but wont.. I'll just wait and buy my newer 2008+ 250cc and it should come with 17" rims and then see what track tyres to get for it front and back |
