You just have to come over and not touch your bike for a few hours while I dig in to all those juicy wires in your harness so we can get that out of the way.
Then we'll ride down to the electronics shop and get the two switches and fab a bracket. Then I can assemble you a gauge. Here is the chip you need to buy! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...9#ht_499wt_922 you can buy the switches in person with me when you ride out. Wouldn't hurt to order an extra chip or two just in case. They's only $3. Adrian bring your new goodies I didn't get to touch bluey like I wanted to Sunday.. The gear gauge hardware/software is done. It gets a bit hot to the touch you could say (ey Ken?) but I just need to get the shift light program working. I can put the gauge on now and upload you the newer program later to make the shift light work.

Took my gauge out and put it through wheelie testing torture today.
No problems to report! Worked fine all day! I landed very hard on my forks from a stand up wheelie gone wrong too and nothing happened. Works great! I think I'm gonna order a few processors and make up a few!

Here you can see it mounted with my iphone when I took my dash off. It's just chillen down there! Works great during the day hiding down there like that. I have no trouble seeing what gear I am in. The hardware for the shift light is there too but never finished the program.
I'm gonna make up a few kits. I'm ordering processors now, I'm gonna leave the wiring up to you guys and tell you what wires to connect to where. The kit will consist of two parts. A switch unit, and a gear display with a fuse. I'll go get the switches for the sensor tomorrow and order the processors tonight. There goes my stunt gearing.

I'm going through with the gear gauge without finishing the shift light, but I'm including the hardware. You guys will have to deal with just gear printout at first until I upload you new programs for the shift light.

It has been done..
I ordered four more processors and I have one extra here. I'm going to make five gauges. I owe one to Kevin and one to Paul. There is going to be three for sale. I need to go get 10 switches to make the sensor. You guys get to do the wiring and placement of the gauge and sensor. Now we're just waiting for chips. I'll get switches tomorrow

DongySon reserved!
I will be interested to see what you guys report back after using them for a bit. Just pull them off in the rain cause I don't have cases for them. They will come fuse protected so your bike doesn't die if you forget. They get hot too but it's all good I was testing them today and nothing had a meltdown. If you guys like them I'll design the case and a heatsink and make a few more to go around. I'm putting the first one together now as I do have the one processor on hand.

So far no plans..
I have one unit I will put out past the four I owe. Whomever claims it gets it. Then I will sit back and help walk you guys through install and see how things go.. If smoothly I'll go from there. It's a lot of work for me to make up five of these but I think I have everything now but the switches. I'm hoping I can score ten of them tomorrow. That could be another $50 lol

Arrrgggg I just spent all my sprocket and chain money on parts for these gauges.
I may just ask for $$ to cover the parts lol. None more I can't ask for any profit on a first run product. I'm paying for the parts up front of course. When you have them in your hands.. building more gauges now. Give me a week and I should have five done. you guys set me back on my wheelie time. Parts coming from Canada. had to order more 7 segment digits too. Crazy how I can get all that on ebay now don't even have to go to mouser or digi-key. Just need ten switches. Gonna cost me another grip. oiy vey. When you guys get your stuff you have to all five chip in and buy me a sprocket/chain set so I can go wheelie in the dirt alone. lol

I haven't played with iphone development yet but it is possible and something I have been wanting to look into.
Perhaps for the next version Not a bad idea. It is very possible. The only thing slowing me down from getting you guys gauges is parts. I'll try and do my best to get a bunch of the parts together and make up a bunch of gauges.. The shift light will be on the gauge, I just have to work on the program and update it later. I don't know how that will work out for you guys out of the country!?

Holy smokes lol
There is way more demand for this thing than I can handle as one person. Who has some capitol I can borrow, I'll start a company and improve the product ten fold! (j/k) I will make you guys gauges as fast as I possibly can.. I don't care about profit just hoping to break even at some point. When I have a few to sell I will figure out the price.

I figure you guys can bolt them to a metal part of the frame by the heat sink which will keep them cool and act as a mount. They run a bit hot otherwise.
Velcro works fine too.

I was thinking blue or orange too... not so much for the look, but because green is the color of the N light (and turn sig), and a red light means bad things.

The next one will be super bright white.
I have a white LED that is three times as bright as the blue or green. lol 7000mcd vs 2000mcd The first five people to get them will each get a different color LED and maybe even each some different program lines? I think I also have amber and yellow after the white I forget. I can't complete any more until more parts come but I'm working around those parts and finishing up what I can ahead of time. Gotta go get switches pretty soon. I have the switch screws around here too have to find them so I don't have to buy more.
