Seems to have pulled the vinyl little too tight, the tail end of the somewhat shaped upward..
I spent days looking for textured vinyl online and couldn't find anything. I checked a local sign shop and everything was way too thin and not textured.

i hijacked another thread for my progress actually, lol

'Ninja 250R 08 big bore kit'
http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showt...2&goto=newpost

since im not done yet, still putting in 265cc JE pistons. i wanted to do this conversion step by step and asked them to re-assmeble the engine completely after porting, so we could see what improvement we gained out of that. and then we can see what the new pistons will do~ rather than doing two mods at once and not knowing what each mod ended up getting me in terms of power increase

thats the before and after the porting graph. later when i have the final graph after the bore up, ill post it

ps, they ran the limiter back down to 13.5k after porting, while i had it set to 14.5k before it was ported, probably so he wouldn't risk frying the engine right after having it reassembled, hehe... so that's why there is the difference in the RPM graph.

Nice increase in power there, Wayan! I wonder how much the pistons will net you after that the port job. You think an additional 7 hp and 4 lb/tq?

7hp is a lot to to ask from a relatively small increase in cc & compression. but who knows, i have never tried JE pistons in any other bike, and i only hear good things about them

im expecting / hoping to gain around 4hp as a minimum, and hopefully ill touch the 40Hp marker

anything over that would just be amazing... as it is, im getting to the point that im annoyed that the roads suck so much here on my every-day commute since i cant really let her loose without risking an incident, the roads are too crowded darn it!!

to do that you'd need to spend a lot of time trolling the forums, taking apart the bike many many times, and hanging out at the mechanics for ages xD

ive always carefully read as much as i could about whats good n bad for the bike~ also ive been lucky and found a really good mechanic that i can trust with my bike. that doesnt occur too often. way too many are much closer related to barbarians when it comes to tool handling skills. which is also why i do 90% of the work on my bike~

in hopefully 1 week (but more likely 2) ill be able to post another dyno chart with even better numbers after we have done the bore up and lobbed in the JE pistons

i let my neighbor (also a ninja250 owner) ride my bike to the mechanics to drop off my bike, and i took his bike. he was so impressed that he left his bike there too in the hopes that they can fix his up to something close to my bikes power. lets see what they can do on his bike~ but he doesnt have an AreaP

hes bikes got a problem in the lower/mid rpm range too, totally low on power up till around 6k rpm. so they got some tuning to do on his bike ^^

I'm planning on getting an Area P full system fitted in Spring. Can you recommend any other [preferably cheap & small] upgrades that would make my FI Ninjette more powerful?

There are always powercommanders and stuff like that to tune for more power.

I think this one does too but I thought it was just the paint. This looks pretty old, so I imagine we have the same one. Do you have an extra pin that is closet to 18/19mm? I've got the 13mm. I'm considering wrapping the top in electrical tape until it fits in upside down because the base is a lot closer to 18mm (still small).

Dude, Wayan, those numbers are beyond impressive.

I think I remember seeing that you have had it ported, surely that's not your only mod along with the exhaust?

I am dying to see the dyno after you bore up. I've got a guy trying to talk me into doing an EFI conversion and slapping a turbo on mine...

After seeing your numbers I'd like to copy what you've done!

Today, headed out on a plannd-to-be 5-hour ride that wound up at almost 9 hrs due to some poorly numbered roads (State Road 622 and County Road 622 within a half-mile of one another) and insufficient route planning on my part, with my route taking me through a gravel road that I decided to pass on. As such, I got creative with my road choice, and spent the better part of 2 hours without the slightest clue exactly where I was other than "here." It was a ton of fun

Of course, no GPS. Wound up dead-reckoning myself back to somewhere I knew, incidentally a Picture Game tag site I went to with noche_caliente a couple years ago.

I am dying to see the dyno after you bore up. I've got a guy trying to talk me into doing an EFI conversion and slapping a turbo on mine...

After seeing your numbers I'd like to copy what you've done!
seeing that you live in America, and a bigger displacement bikes are "affordable", i don't see why you would go that far to get more power out of the 250. "efi + turbo" that is surely gonna set you back several grand for the parts and labor!

here the ninja 6R costs 225.000.000 Rp = 26.000 US$!! due to the stupid import tax. thus people can justify spending more on a ninja 250 here since its a long ways before you would spend more on modding the 250 compared to saving up for a 600.

now if its a case of challenging the limit of the small 250~ then im all for it, try what you want to achieve the best results. but personally i think i would stay away from a turbo system, and currently i read that they (sportisi in Jakarta) have not been able to achieve the same amount of power using a EFI conversion that they are with the carb'd bike. mainly due to the throttle body size or something. but this is just what ive read~

the reason id stay away from the turbo per se' would be that i like driving the bike in the full rpm range. on my daily commute i quite often stay below 7k rpm during most of my driving. specially since i have more power in the lower range to be able to do so (when i drove my neighbors bike that had a nerfed lower range, i had to constantly stay over 6-7k rpm to get any response on his bike, while he was keeping up easily driving my bike staying below 7k, haha). now if im not mistaken, a turbo charged ninja would require you to ALWAYS drive in the upper rpm range to gain the pressure boost from the turbine to make a difference, and heck yeah the power must be siiiick! but that's not my style of driving
but i would still love to try out a turbod ninja, just to see what its capable of

obviously there is also the possibility that im aware of that the dyno might be off~ so maybe my bike would read differently on another dyno. however, the increased power (before and after porting) should be quite accurate, it was done on the same dyno, similar time of the day, and humidity~ and i definitely feel a difference (before/after) and oh boy did i feel a difference when driving the other ninja, even though his bike has apparently been ported, re-jetted, and has a full exhaust system (stock air filter still), it was like a totally different bike. my neighbor kept shaking his head in disbelief on our way to the mechanic

Painted windscreen, turned out pretty nice.

Previous owner half-as*ed the fender eliminator so i fixed that today as well, not it's flush.

Replaced frame slider, bar ends from kids knocking it over at Disneyland -__-

I like them a lot. It's not a drastic, "OMG" change, but I definitely notice less sag/play.
