My baby got a scrub down today after I took come pictures and realized how dirty she was. She also signed herself up (which I dont know how, she has not hands) for an oil change tomorrow (eventually I'll do it myself).

Any who. Almost 300 miles on it. So proud x-)

How do you change the bulb? Are you braking the seal to do that?

got an oil change today. they also fixed a rattling sound i been hearing, it was my exhaust since i didnt tighten the silencer bolt enough. they also seemed to adjust my clutch, the engagement is way further out then what im used to, so im shifting like crap today x-( but over all it was great service.

yeah, if a bulb goes out, ill just pull it off and reseal it. its just silicone, so its easy to take off and clean and reapply.

Well I took a closer look at my Driven clip-ons. They are not as simple of an install as compared to the Woodcraft's. The clamps are a one piece design as compared to Woodcraft's 2 piece design which forces you to remove the upper triple tree to mount them. This makes the install a little bit longer and you have to be careful that you don't twist the forks in the triple trees when removing and installing the upper triple.

my ninjette ran out of gas today. While I was first at a light, with cars behind me. I started off then poof, my bike goes off. Lucky enough, I was near a gas station. I guess these gas gauges dont go all the way to E before the bike needs some gas.

On another note, I got modmy250's flushmounts on, they look and work great, plug and play.

At least yours has a gauge, mine just has a dinky light! I have a lil temperature gauge where the fuel gauge would be.

I pulled out the stock fork springs and put in some stiffer ones with preload spacers. It rides like a brand new bike and feels soooo much better now that it doesn't dive under braking.

The FI models have a temp gauge + a low fuel light instead of the fuel gauge that the carb models get.

Would rather have that setup instead of the inaccurate fuel gauge.

Maybe it's a hit or miss but my gauge is accurate... Either way, I would rather have a temp gauge.

I just bought it a few days ago so I changed the oil and set the correct tire pressure. The PO installed the metal cap upside down on the oil filter and had the tires at 8psi/15psi front/rear. Needless to say, the bike handled way better then during the test ride. It was an incredibely fun bike to ride...I've never had the throttle pinned on any of my other bikes as often as on the 250R. Total riot!

I did a 200 mile round trip to AL on saturday and redlining. I did hit the limiter and seen it bounce a few times. The crazy thing is I was only doing 85 mph...., then I realized I was still in 5th gear. Things got a lot better after that. Nearly 11k under my belt, I can't believe that I did that.

I need to do this upgrade as well, I found out that mine seems to bottom out just by applying pressure to the rear. I remember reading the wiki on swapping them out. How easy/hard was it for you?

Are you looking for fully adjustable, or just a better fit for the bike that helps its' handling? I put a ninja 250 J shock on mine, and the difference is amazing. Its a little stiffer to start with, and I can adjust the preload, and it raises the back up about an inch.

the best part is that instead of requiring extra work to get the gsxr shock in, the J shock just bolts right on where the old one came off. takes 5 minutes once you get the bolts on the dogbones loose.

yes, i believe you can. the only thing i had to cut out was this:

that funny looking stack of foam i got there is part of my internal radiator water reserve which im moved under the seat (where the stock air box used to be). running the bike naked, so the original coolant reserve on the side really bugged me.

before,

after,

tucked in neatly under the seat.

took those pics before i changed the headlamp a while back~

thats the shock finally installed,

had to get the holes drilled out to 12mm first tho, to allow the bolts to pass through~
.
at the metal lathe workshop, handy to have one so close to the mechanics place.

replacing the rear shocks was made considerably easier due to the fact that we took down the engine, so the frame was light enough to prop up on a box and it allowed me plenty of space to move about.

you need to totally remove all of the rear farings, battery, etc etc~ took me about 6 hours to take everything off (including the engine), and reassemble the bike with the new suspension, and put the back farings back on.

did no have a chance to test the new suspension, since the bike was missing a vital component... zi engine!
