Yea...I got on a few different bikes to see what was most comfortable...the 250 was the wiener! My BF had me get on a 500 and I instantly felt the weight difference and I wasn't touching that good. He was gonna give me his old 600 but I was barely on my toes. haha. I will def be posting pics as soon as I get one! No worries there! I'm super stoked and can't wait! Hope your pics go up soon too!!!

Yes. This stuff can be like ice. To make matters worse, you can get it on the bottom of your shoe and then your foot will slide the next time you go to put it down.

Do you have riding boots? They're usually slip resistant and make a huge difference.
Luckily I haven't fully dropped a bike yet (knock on wood), but I almost did the other day. I had my car keys in the bikes trunk and after my trip, i notice my rear seat cushion (from a non-passenger cowl) and my cowl coming off. I couldn't find my car keys anywhere and backtracked my whole trip at night (and on the highway) looking for my keys. I finally just accepted that someone ripped off my cowl to grab my keys. When I was parking, I forgot to put the kickstand down since I was frustrated. Luckily I park in front of my car and caught myself on my car's hood before the bike dropped.
Turns out all my stuff fell through the sides of the trunk. Removing the side panels and seat was fun, but now I can drive again =)
Enjoy your bike and get tons of practice! Are you using any kind of break-in process?

which foot did you put down? i think i read correctly that you put it down on the right side, which shouldn't have happened if you'd stopped in the proper ready position with your left foot down, and right foot on the peg. not out to add insult to injury, just some constructive criticism.

grats on the new bike BTW

I had put my left foot down, even with my riding boots, my foot was slipping.

Being short isn't so bad. We get to learn a few extra precaustions that tall people don't have to worry about.

BTW, nice boots.
