thank you!

the decal is a custom decal a bunch of friends and i had done in memory of a friend who passed away from CF. he was a rider too. his nickname was 'superman', so we put his initials 'DB' inside the superman logo. here's a better pic of the one on my car.

thanks again for the compliment!

Here's my "official" review for my helmet.

Weight is okay, it didn't bother me until I got to ride around using a Shoei Qwest for a couple of weeks and appreciated a less bulky helmet.

Now THAT'S the way to do it! Tasteful, meaningful, respectful, correct, and just plain cool.

It's hard to correct people who do it the wrong way without coming off as insensitive, but all these "in memory of" stickers are actually clueless misinterpretations of true dedications. When you see a plaque with a message like that on a park bench or something, it means someone donated that park bench or other thing or paid money to put it there in memory of that person. Can a car be "in memory" of that person? Yes. Technically, a dedication can dedicate any thing or work. Did you create, buy, or operate the dedicated object or work for the specific purpose of remembering that person? If not, then it should not say "in memory of." If you wrote a song "in memory of," then you dedicate that song in their memory. If you bought a stained glass window "in memory of" someone, then you dedicate that window in their memory. If you didn't, it can alternatively say something like "[name followed by dates] -We will never forget" or "[date] Beloved father, brother, son, and friend: We will miss you, [name]."

The worst flub I recall was shortly after September 11, 2001, when some office worker I worked with printed up a a few pages with a clipart American flag waving on a pole with the caption: "In memory of the 9-11 tragedy." What was? The door it was posted on? The paper?! And it should be dedicated to the VICTIMS, not "the tragedy!" The terrorist want you to remember the tragedy! That was kind of the point of their heinous act. It's the victims, both alive, dead, and survived by, which we must keep in our hearts and minds.

My first bike

Bought this as a fixer-upper, and loving every minute on it. Took it at night, as I thought it would bring out the color better:
