The beast lives. Though it currently has a stock engine in it. It runs great. The cam timing is adjusted slightly and it has carbs exhaust and ignition mods. I am going to be adding a tiny shot of nitrous later. For now I just need to add tags. Then ride it around and get the feel of it .

I took the bike out for a ride today.
I built this bike from the frame up over the winter. So it is basically a new bike. Most of it is left over stuff from my original bike . And some is from a friends 2010 ninja 250. He dumped and donated it to my racing cause. The rest is eBay stuff. And parts given to me by friends. The bike feels great. The engine is stock but has the cam timing adjusted slightly . Velocity stacks covered with a thin screen filter . Stock ignition module , custom exhaust and the cr special carbs with 110 main jets. Carbs are rich so I changed to 108 mains. The ignition timing made it feel like a wet noodle. So I changed that to the BRT ‘‘tis with 42 deg of advance and a nice map . Adjusted the bars and shifter a little for added comfort. Let’s see how it does tomorrow. The speedo does not work for some reasons also. But that is something I will sort later. It s a Koso RX2 dash and the rest works so it’s probubly the pick up.

Update
Getting ready for the next run Arkansas Mile in September. I tried to do a static test. But I could not get the engine to respond properly. It would just sort of chug and not rev properly. And the idle was weak. I did a compression test and found 60 right and 100 left. I pulled the top end and found broken ring lands. So the engine is totally apart and will be getting 12.5 to 1 forged pistons and ported and polished head. Two intake cams and adjusted cam timing . I installed my back up engine and it has 190 psi on both sides so I will begin testing . First tests are with 110 octane fuel and 10 hp nitrous shot.

You can go for the production records and do very little mods. Just remove the merrors . Just get out there and have fun.

My son and I are planning to hop on the bikes and head for The Arkansas Mile in Sept to spectate (and watch you set a new 250cc record hopefully!).
A Production-class bike is possible, eventually. |

That would be awesome
. I am really working toward it. I have two running engines and one that I am doing up. It will actually be my best nitrous engine. It is a three day event. I am hoping to make the most of it. Start out small and steady. And see what I think I can do Sunday morning. Look forward to meeting you

Getting things together for the September race. I will be testing two very different nitrous systems . First my regular Wizards of nitrous system. Set up with a ten then a twenty then thirty shot of power.
That will use nitrous and 110 octane fuel. And I have a new Boss Noss system testing twenty and thirty shot with methanol and nitrous plus 110 octane fuel for the engine through the carbs. September is a three race day weekend so I hope to test a verity of engine gearing setups as well. I have so much stuff like tools three engines parts fuel and the like I need to get a trailer hitch and rent a trailer so I can sleep in the van. Bike feels really good at this point.

Any time you use nitrous you are in the fuel class. The rd it’s I am going for is the modified partial streamlined/Fuel 240-4 or MPS/F 250-4. This is a new track so there are no current records in the 250 class. I plan to do a lot of testing so I should set it around 100-105 and see how high I can push it. My goal is 125 mph to get the D license .

Motorcycle drag racing is really down laity. It’s a shame there is not much interest in it anymore.

The engine will be running on 110 octane fuel up to about 105 mph. Then I push the button and the nitrous and methanol mix are injected. My hope is the methanol will help keep cylinder temp close to 1000 deg.

I’m going to get the fuel and methanol Saturday. Keep it all sealed and cool for sept 28th. I get my 20 lb nitrous bottle filled next week.
I have the wizards system tested and tuned and ready to go with a twenty shot . It should work and I will test it second. Last time it made three perfect runs. The nitrous level was not as high as I wanted it. But it made three runs around 112 I think. Everything is different since then so it will be untested as far as that goes. The Boss Noss system is all new and I am very interested to see how the methanol nitrous combo works. I have used there system before and think this will work. I have twenty and thirty shots for that. I am bringing an extra cylinder head and two extra motors. One motor is totally fresh. The other ones are in great shape. 180 psi plus on compression test.

Thanks Dave but I reserved a little u haul. 18 dollars a day.
Today I did my final nitrous testing with methanol. The system seems perfect. The engine feels really good . I have my gearing strategy sorted and everything seems good. I do need to get a new thermocouple for the right side . It has not seemed right for a while . About 100 deg cold . Now it won’t read below 300 deg. So I will order a new one . They are 90 bucks. I need some plugs and oil. I got twenty pounds of nitrous today also. I have five gallons on methanol and plenty of 110 octane fuel. Still need to pack tools and some parts. And organize my pit equipment and make sure my riding gear is all good. Other than that I’m ready to go with a month to spare. I’m sure something will come up but things are looking good.

OK let’s get ready to rumble.
I am headed to the track !!! Going to Arkansas international airport. One mile to accelerate and see how fast a 250 cc fourstroke Kawasaki ninja can go. The weather looks like in just might cooperate . No R word spoken so all I can do is have at it.

Sorry to learn about your engine woes but that's how you find limits. Did you break any records (and in what class)? It sounds like you might have been fast enough...

It’s all good . The bike went 118 finally got it tuned but the engine leaked the head gasket. After the clutch let go. It is a simple fix for all of it.
I had a great time The new record MPS F 250-4 at Arkansas is 118.0 so I can’t complain.
