I like the new gen as well. It looks very sharp, and some even say aggressive and "mean". My next bike will probably be a new-gen, unless by then something incredible shows up. |

Still riding here but I don't think it counts if you live in SoCal.
But, yeah, I rode out here on it in late December (from the East coast), so I'm not stranger to riding in the cold. Last futzed with by CZroe; January 30th, 2010 at 04:50 PM. |

January was quite cold here with lots of snow. Today was a bit warmer, 3°C/37°F, so I rode for about an hour just to charge the battery, wear the tires a bit, and get the parts pumping. My Ninja's been standing out in the cold most of the time.

Rode for an hour sunday. 24 degrees roads were nice and dry and just a bit of sand/salt at the outer edges and on the yellow lines.

It was raining and about +5c on the weekend here. I could have rode if I really wanted to, but I find as I get older I'd just as soon stay warm and dry in my car. I've done plenty of riding in cold, wet weather over the years and really have had enough.
Today, on the other hand, is partly sunny with temps of +7 or +8c (about 50f) so I was happy to fire up my 250 and ride in to work today.

Had a second child this winter, still riding when I'm not dropping of or picking up kids. Got a Schampa balaclava for XMas, really should have picked up one of these years ago.

I just picked up a new set of nonperforated leather gauntlet gloves.. hope to keep my hands decent when I (hopefully) start riding in another 2 or 3 weeks..
about 2 weeks ago I was riding around my neighborhood.. not too bad.. but I can't see going anywhere near parkway speed without some thermals on.. lol

I'd need studded snow tire to ride with the crazy weather this past month. What the hell happened to global warming? If the forecast is right I won't be able to ride until almost March!

Nice 1.5 hour ride on Saturday, 45 min. on Sunday and commuted today. The weekend rides were nice as the weather was in the 40's and sunny. However, the ride to work this a.m. was freezing and not very fun. 22F and my visor/glasses were getting iced up and my fingertips ached when I got to the office. I'm glad Spring is a couple of months away.

I rode yesterday. Although it was chilly I had to gas it up the Seabreeze bridge. Went through the gears up to about 120 then shut down. The wind chill over the river was just too much for me.

120? Either you are talking metric (120 km = 75 mph) or your bike is no 250.

Global warming is hitting Vancouver - Winter Olympic City - hard, breaking warmth records. Have to truck in snow for the free-style skiing up on Mt. Cypress.

Let the bike run in the garage for 20 mins, then took a short ride around the neighborhood (deftly avoiding the large patches of ice). With another storm scheduled for Monday, that's probably all I'll get for a while. |

Mid 40s last 2 days here in Rhody. Great riding. Hardly any sand at all. Just some wet toads from melting snow.

I would say let them down to about 10psi so they can better grip the bumpy surface.

Did come around a corner and see 4 dry deer about 100 yards ahead. Look much nicer than wet toads. Gotta love dusk near the state management area for views.

Did about 40 miles sunday. Dry and 40 degrees. Most sand was blown off the roads by cars, so really not a bad ride. 138, 3, 102, frenchtown, tillinghast, division, arcadia road, 165. not a bad mix for february.

The weather here is finally nice and not so rainy and cold, but I can't ride because I have 3 bulged disks in my back which hurts a lot and one of them is pressing against some nerves and so my legs and feet keep going numb.

Been riding almost half of January and all of February---not the Ninja but my bicycle. There is still too much sand and salt on the road and the Ninja has a lot of aluminum. There will be lots of time to ride in the weeks to come. Besides, riding the bicycle gets rid of the winter weight. Truth be known, I like bicycling as much as motorcycling. I use the MC for the long rides.
