I looked at it and decided to buy it
it'll be my lil' yoshi next week -'01 ninja 250 in lime green runs well and only has slight cosmetic damage, purely because of the turn signal pushing into the fairings featuring a yoshi sticker xD |

Felt that my friction zone seemed to be getting smaller and smaller as time progresses and was getting more difficult to use so I bought a set of clutch springs and while lurking on eBay I found a complete set of clutch plates (both friction and metal) for $24 shipped off a bike with 4k miles on it. Bought an OEM gasket since I'll probably rip the old one off.
I had just replaced the clutch cable about 2k miles ago and have kept an eye on it, adjusting and lubing when needed and I can't seem to remember if the small friction zone is just in my head or that's how the 250 is. On the ZX6R...DAT FRICTION ZONE is huge. So for ~$60 I can learn how to install new (well, used) clutch plates. |

Let's see, I switched out the stock brake light bulb for a nice LED replacement, added a flasher unit to the brake light while I was in there and then gave it a quick cleaning with some wonderful Smartwax One.

I Just got my bike...do you think this is a necessity? I know the stock one sounds stupid. I guess the right way to describe it. Can you record it?

Necessity? No way. Its a fun thing to scare people with for jokes, but also nice so if someone cuts you off, they will definitely hear the horn! Mine seems to be louder and higher pitched than the one choneofakind posted, but similar idea. Mine is the single hella supertone, high tone. $35 on ebay. |

Today the lady and myself went on our first official ride. We went down a bunch of backroads through the country to get to a restaurant that ended up being closed down. We then decided to check out 3 other restaurants that were also shut down. So I figured we'd just head back home and we ended up getting lost.
Good times, good times! My new helmet felt nice and the dropdown was awesome, much better than the piece of junk KBC I was using before. Oh and once we got back on track, we happened to come across the nativity scene for the picture game. All in all it was a good ride. I plan on getting lost again sometime this week. |

You need clutch plates and springs?
The listing where I bought my plates had been sitting on eBay since November 2011 so I think they're glad I bought them. Just search "ninja 250 clutch plates" on eBay and pick out the listings that are for the newgen. Here's one for the basket, plates, pressure plate and springs/bolts for $45 shipped off a 2011: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2011-Kawasak...d52277&vxp=mtr 2010 plates, springs, bolts, bearing for $49 shipped: http://www.ebay.com/itm/K54-Kawasaki...56045f&vxp=mtr |

Titles should be search terms/keywords. Everything else should be the description. Something like "2008-12 EX250J Ninja 250R Clutch Pack Kit Springs Friction Plates" To make my search broad enough to get all the other results my inbox would get flooded as soon as I set up the notification and started waiting for one with a good price. |

There's a seller on eBay that sells a full Barnett clutch kit (friction, metal, springs) for about ~$100 shipped but I prefer to stay with OEM discs. They list the correct Barnett part numbers for the kit: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kawasaki-EX-...2cc4ea&vxp=mtr |

2 friction plates (innermost and outermost): 13088-0039 3 friction plates (in between): 13088-0038 4 springs: 92145-0531 Clutch cover gasket: 11009-1872 Sourcing them from cheapcycleparts.com is $143.23 before shipping. I've never dealt with cheapcycleparts so I don't know how their service is. I used Bike Bandit for my replacement clutch cable and I received my stuff the next day, but I also paid like $10 premium over the other OEM parts sites. Lurk on eBay for a bit until you can find the parts you need from a parted-out bike. I'm guessing that after I take off the clutch cover this weekend and take a look inside that my plates are probably fine and all I really needed were the springs but since I got such a good deal on plates with ~3.5k miles of wear then I might as well swap them out. The EBC springs are about 10% stiffer than OEM and I don't know how much stiffer the Barnett springs are, I might end up buying OEM springs if I feel that the clutch is too stiff. |
