Simple, take the damper off your 250 and put it on hers...

I wish it were that simple but hers has a zx9 front end and zx7 swingarm completely custom fabed with zx10 tail and body work. I bought it like this for $100 she has been riding it since its a really fun bike but sits too tall for my taste with the 17 inch wheel. It handles like a dream.

Didn't have blinkers that were very visible on my fender eliminator kit. Went ahead with the help of @rojoracing53 we put in some actually visible blinkers.

I remember doing that when my trip gauge button was stuck and didn't reset itself until 50 miles into the tank.

Where are your friends when you really need them.
Makes you glad you had a 250 instead of some Beast.

Been there! I had to push it up over and over pass... Good news is that once I got to the top, I hopped on and coasted to the gas station at the bottom... Haven't ran out of gas since! LOL!

If it was one of those vulcan 1900 bikes I'd have just left it and walked home lol. @menikmati yeah, either I had really crappy mileage or I didn't reset the trip meter right. Normally at 200 miles its still got around 25 or so miles to go. @iceknyght its funny it slowly cut off just as I was going over an overpass then completely cut out as I was making a turn. Had to push it up a hill all the way to the gas station. I bet people were like wtf are you riding a bike for anyways its 30 somethin' degrees. That's twice I ran out of gas...don't want to become like alex.s.

I've done it twice... once on purpose just to see how much gas it really takes. You sure don't get any warning on the 250.. sputter once or maybe twice and then it coast or push.

The first time I ran out I got my daughter to bring me some gas...

I actually put the proper sized spacers in my forks after swapping to EX500 springs last summer I had way too much sag before, and the forks felt fine once I really got into the travel, but were super soft up top. Now, they're just about perfect for me. They're a 0.585 spring, and for my 135# self, they're just a little soft, but almost perfect. (racetech suggested 0.644, and the smallest they have is 0.700)

My spacers are made of 3/4" ID schedule 40 PVC. They are 81mm long, and they replace the stock metal spacers. Much better I'll play with the oil level/thickness in the summer.

on the right is the old static sag, on the left is the new static sag. 2" vs 0.75". Much better. Don't mind the dirty ninjette.

@csmith12, this is why my front end felt so squishy in the pits but felt good when riding...

Decided to see if I was dumb enough to ride in sub-freezing temperatures as tomorrow I am taking an ATV course in just slightly over freezing temperatures.

60 miles later had confirmed I was insane, was sitting in front of the fireplace, pizza in hand, and slowly regaining feeling in my toes. Up side is I proved I did install the chain guard right! LOL

So there's the No-Mar bar and the Mojo Lever, but now we have the Rojo Bar

So I pulled Michelin pilot road 3 I had on my stock front wheel and mounted it onto the R-6 wheel I've been testing.

The brakes have a bit more power with the 310mm rotor vs the stock 290mm, and the complete R-6 wheel with larger rotor is still a full pound lighter then the stock setup. I can wait to get the R-6 caliper and Brembo master cylinder mounted up and get some larger improvements.

I've got questions! How did you anchor the bucket? How did you mount and stabilize the center shaft? How much did it cost to make your own bar? Think the bucket is sized well for most rims (16" and Buell with outside rotor come to mind)? Did you buy the tips or make them? Any ideas for coating the Harbor Freight Portable Tire Changer bar with something protective if I wanted to use it (trying to save money)? How much would you charge for a bar?

Those are just generic 6mm-1.0 bolts 8mm long, ace hardware or OSH will have those and probably cheaper to. Hell I even have a couple dozen lying around the shop.

I found that out after I spent $15 on 2 sets from Bike Bandit lol.

I decided I should probably just be patient, as the roads have ice / rain headed for them anyways.

I got my cool white gauges finished, got my fork spacers installed in my forks, and got my headlight aimed a little better. Check my pictures for pics of it all.

Loli, I've been reading more of the tuning info that came with the ecotrons kit. We might be in for a fun spring of fuel map tuning if I keep at this rate

1. I haven't yet but will be, right now it's just extremely heavy since its filled with metal slugs(look like nickels) I'm going to take a 15gal VP fuel can cut off the lid and mount it to the floor with some female anchors(like the studs that stick out of the ground but they're a nut that's glued flush with the floor so you don't trip over it, then you use a normal 1/2 bolt to mount the bucket)

2. So I welded this together real quick and dropped it into the CENTER of the bucket then poured in 200lbs of metal to weight it down. The paddles keep it from shifting and spinning well enough but this was only a test. The final unit with have concrete poured in so there's zero chance of movement.

3. Since I do most of my personal projects at work in my free time(companies time) and use the scrap materials I have laying around it doesn't cost me a thing for the most part only time which I'm being payed for anyways job perks.

4. I used a normal 5gal buck you buy anywhere for the first test and it was to small for the rotor to drop in, but on a single rotor wheel like the ninja 250 and buell it still works with the rotor up. The buck you see in the video is a 7 gal bucket originally for pool chlorine and should work with wheels down to 14-15 inches. I'm not sure where the 15Gal VP fuel falls but I think it close to the same width as the 7gal bucket.

5. I'm a cheap bastard that specializes in taking good ideas and making them better so I make almost all my own parts, within the capability of my machines. The bar is made entirely by me.

6. Coat indicate a dip or paint of some kind like pasti-dip but anything like that will have a certain level of traction and when you try to slide the bar across the rim it will just tear. Now lining you bar with a mounted piece of hard plastic like the Mojo lever and my Rojo Bar works great and slides easy. If you send me a close up pic of both ends of you bar I may be able to make something for you but if you search the web I did come across a couple sites that describe how to modify the HF bar to do this.

7. you really want to know

Well it's not going to be cheap and I didn't plan on selling them because I didn't want to impede on any possible patents with the Mojo Lever. The main shaft is 1" hard anodized 7075 Aluminum and the tips are made from delrin. Delrin is a high grade Polyoxymethylene plastic commonly used in quality frame sliders. I believe the material for the shaft alone is like $100 and the delrin was another $15 + all the labor and the cost to have it anodized. So I figure to avoide any patent liabilities I can just give them away but you'll be shocked at how much its going to cost to ship these.

In all honesty the Mojo Lever is overpriced for the time and materials that go into it, but its going to cost you more time, money and effort to make your own then it's worth. So it's cheaper to just by the Mojo Lever.

If you guys want I'll create a new thread with a DIY on how to make the stand when I make the final product. Unfortunately I've got like 7 projects running on prototypes right now that I'm to lazy or busy to finalize so it may be awhile.

What if I start a thread titled "What did Rojo make or Modify today" so I don't clutter this thread.

looking forward to trying out the new maps!

Just got my new sprockets and chain on and shimmed the cush drive, without breaking anything!

Gotta align the rear wheel and put on new brake pads and map sometime this weekend.

I haven't got the R-6 caliper mounted yet but I figured I'd get the Brembo master cylinder mounted for the time being. Notice in the 3rd pic I'm pointing at the remote lever adjuster.

Just got done lane splitting hwy680 & 4 in the dark and rain yeah that wasn't very fun and my eyes are dry from lack of blinking. I swung by the Kawi dealership to check out the 2011-2013 Zx-10 mirrors with integrated blinkers. It's not going to be easy, well it will be easy but only after I make a very cool and slightly complex adapter plate

I keep telling myself to just buy the cheapo ebay one but everyone has those so I have to be different. Plus the zx-10 mirrors have the indexed locking position so you can fold then in and snap them back.

I'll be at the shop all day tomorrow mounting that R-6 caliper finally

This one has definately got to be a seperate show me thread with lots of pic's. How much were the mirrors???? I bought the cheapo eBay ones and want to mill down the stalks to fit the original mounts... don't like the "rubber booties" that come with the AM mirrors... BUT... I might just junk them is what your talking about looks really clean. I defiantely want increased visibility in the front.

There was a chick on a concurs stopped in my neighborhood today talking on her cell. The biker in me was curious as I didn't recoginize her as being a neighbor (only 96 homes). Turns out she had laid it down out on the main road in front of our neighborhood... driver cut her off and didn't even stop or anything. She was complaining about a sore arm and didn't think she could ride toady. She was calling a friend with a pickup to come and haul the bike home. There wasn't much damage to the bike but I always wonder if extra lights would've made the bike "more visible".

I'd really like to see dual intensity light so you could have running lights as well as blinkers.

the dealer was kind enough to power up the bike and show me the indicators in action, and it looks like two single separate reflectors maybe LED maybe not. During the day I cant see them helping with visibility be any large margin, but at night they'll be awesome. We can probably modify the wiring so one of the two lights is your running and the second flashes, but I'd say it'd be best to wire them as running lights all the time and flash when we need them.

Ok so I'll admit I don't have the mirrors yet since they go for $160+ A SIDE online and at the stealership. I have spotted a few sets(L & R together) on forums between $100-150. I've currently got a call into some of my old racing connections to see if they have someone racing a ZX-10 who still has the mirrors and can hock me up with a better deal or trade favors. The $30 ebay mirrors are worth the $30 and you shouldn't expect much out of them for that price. Unfortunately the next available upgraded option is $300 in parts plus labor. ZX-10 mirrors are way over priced even if you can find a used pair for a deal but the quality will be incomparable. So in order for this to come out looking OEM I may have to outsource my prototype to a friend with a CNC capable of 4D axis operations. I already know exactly what I need to make I just don't know how I'm going to do it with my limited machines. I'll see what I can come up with and I'll be sure to share all the detail. If I have my friend clean up my design and make me a couple, it wouldn't be hard for him to make a few extras if you guys are interested, but you still have to find the mirrors at a decent price.

I installed LED lights in my dash. I was going to go with Black light (UV) bulbs but it was too dark. I wanted to do the green (hence the bike) but for some dumb ass reason I only ordered 2...:/ For now I have clear. Here are some pics. Oh...I also have a gap I've never noticed so I'm not sure if I put it back together wrong or if it's always been like that. This is my first time taking it apart. If you're sitting on the bike it on the right hand side where the front and side farrings connect, just right above it where the black plastic is. Oh...you can also tell, the 1st & 3rd pic has a green bulb in the N, the second pic has a clear. Didn't notice till now.
1st pic-black light blubs
2nd pic-2 green 1 clear
3rd pic-3 clear
4th pic-the "gap" I'm talking about.

Oil change plus I cleaned and lubed the chain in the morning. Love my new Venom stands. Definitely make working on a bike a hell of a lot easier.

On my way home from work I was able to hit 110MPH on the little Ninjette. Fresh Mobil 1 Full Synthetic definitely made a bit of a difference as the quickest I've been able to get to was just a hair over 100MPH.

On my "To-Do List:"

- R6/R1 Quick Throttle Mod
- K&N Pod Filters
- GSXR Exhaust
- Shim Carb Needles
- RIDE MORE!

I didn't notice the gap until after I took mine apart but I'm pretty sure it was already there because that's how the light illuminates the face.

This isn't by the face....it's on the right hand side where the two farrings come together by the black piece. I'll try to take a better pic.

Ah. I was squinting at it on a crappy smartphone and thought it was an extreme angle by your fuel gauge and was green because you replaced a couple of your gauge lights with green bulbs.

Yeah, I'm not sure what's causing the gap. A broken tab that has the remaining bit misaligned would do something similar but it looks like your tab is just fine. Did you lean the shroud against a heat source when it was removed?

Don't think so....bike was cold! It's been raining like crazy here. I need to take off the whole farring soon anyways. I just don't have the GIANT ASS allen wrench to take off the frame slider.

Change the coolant today @ 3 years 10 months and under 24k miles.
Checked the specific gravity (boiling and freezing points), they were still pretty good. I wanted to check the chemical comp of the OEM coolant, but I have to wait on the chemical test strips.

I used Prestone 50/50 Ready-to-Use Prediluted Extended Life Antifreeze/Coolant that I had left over from the cars.
It's phosphate, silicate, and borate free and says it protects aluminum and all other engine metals and provide extended mileage or up to 5 years of protection.

This coolant is very light colored (yellowish) compared to the dark green OEM stuff. I'll see how well it goes with the bike.
