I got my exhaust installed tonight and my... my... my.... its a sweet sounding note I have to say. The bike went from lawn mower to a real motorcycle.

I have heard the slip-ons and other full exhausts and this Area P exhaust sounds the best by far.

Area P has exceeded my expectations at this point. The only other thing that would put me over the edge is to be the group by winner hint.... hint... LOL..............

Anyway ...... this is an outstanding product.

Thank you Kerry and all the people who put time into making such a good product at Area P.

Holy crap you guys package the hell out of these. I had to dig into my toolbox just to get everything out and unwrapped.

Got mine done today, along with the tuner and battery hookup.

All nekkid:

All done (but not cleaned yet and with crappy lighting):

Sounds great, I have a pretty nasty backfire when I let of the throttle quickly. Going to have to inspect for leaks and tighten some things up tomorrow.

Mine did that for the first couple days as well. I'd say keep an eye on it and let the springs set a bit...

A little bit of back fire won't hurt anything. Did you remove your intake snorkel?

One question, when you guys are selecting your tune, are you just going by the tiny little triangle? Is the another indication?

Plug it into your computer / laptop. It says it in the status bar at the bottom I think.

The correct Map is pre-loaded and already set to the correct position when it is shipped. You simply install the unit and ride.

*Timid mumble* I finally got enough money to buy a Ninja 300...

If I set my computer clock to March 30th, and post in this thread; can I make the group buy cut off time?

Well, the reason I ask is that now that I have installed my exhaust it's time for me to switch over to the map catered to the exhaust and snorkel delete. It seems that the only indication of the current mapping is the tiny arrow on the plastic screw that changes maps. I didn't know if maybe the LED flashed a certain pattern on startup to indicate position or something else similar just to be sure.

Hi Wes,

The Dial detent on the unit faceplate is very "subtle" when changing map positions. If you are unsure of what position you are actually on, simply go into the software and confirm the selected map position and map number that was pre-loaded for you. Your unit had two maps pre-loaded for you.

Position 1 = Map #3 - Stock
Position 2 = Map #7 - Ultra High Mount

Got the exhaust setup today on mine (finally) -- haven't had a chance to wind her up though -- still need to do my airbox and install the controller.
What's the ETA on the drawing, by the by?

ETA is short! If I can get the little monsters to sit still long enough, I think we can hold a drawing tomorrow. Should be fun!

I'm very nearly done! Pulled the airbox, blocked off the KLEEN air system, pulled all the Cali exhaust stuff off, installed the FuelMoto controller, made sure I didn't have a check engine light, and the exhaust is installed.

Having two issues though:
1. the provided 'spacer' bolt heads are so small that they actually slip /through/ the fairing. If I use the OEM screw it puts my fairing right up on the pipe. Anyone else have this issue?

2. There is a slight odor after revving her that I'm not expecting, and some weird hesitation. This is PROBABLY because my tuner isn't loaded with the Pod Filter setup. I've PMed Kerry about that and will look into it again in the morning (easily could be my own screwup too)

You have to use the oem washers with the provided bolts so the bolt doesnt slip thru the fairings

hmm, let me go check -- IIRC I only got 1 washer and figured it was just a packaging error; but it may be 2 stuck together.

Not the washer that came with the exhaust , i am talking about the oem washer that looks like a spacer so the bolt doesnt go thru the fairing...

Hi Yakaru,

1. As Felo pointed out several times - you simply use the oem shouldered/sleeved bushing with the new longer screws supplied.

2. As noted on your invoice, the Map pre-loaded on your unit was for the mods indicated at that time which was: stock airbox, snorkel removed, K&N panel filter. If you have removed the airbox and installed Pod Filters, this requires a very different Map. Simply contact us and we'll be happy to send it to you.

Anything else you need assistance on, simply let us know.

Thanks KB,

The sleeves did the job just fine, fairings are now attached and the system looks great

And I'm looking forward to the map and then giving the system a spin.

Alright sports fans, this capable group of (young) motorcyclists has helped out by conducting the drawing for the free system. The video is loading as we speak, so I'm not going to give away the details until we all can see the drawing as it happens... (and also, so the suspense builds. )
