It was awesome meeting all of you! I had a great time, love your riding pace and awesome company! Looking forward to the Cherohala ride in September!

Btw, the camera on my phone sucks! I know someone else got some photos when we stopped on Richard B. Will you post them?

It's always fun riding with the group. It was nice to see new faces as well.

@ally99 thanks for posting the pics. All those smiling faces: must have been the food.

I'm not going to call anyone out, but I KNOW someone else took some photos. You better post them soon or else...

Great ride today, I hadn't been able to ride much other than back and forth to work for the past month so I enjoyed just riding for the sake of riding again.

Unfortunately I had a small crash about 15 minutes from my house. I was turning left onto a road and I hadn't slowed enough to make it, and I ended up lowsiding. Luckily I slid into some tall fluffy grass and not pavement, and there was no traffic around. My knee bumped something when I came off, so now I've got a nice bump there for my trouble. The only thing that happened to the bike was a small crack at the front of my left side fairing, and the turn signal snapped off.

Oh no! That really sucks! I'm glad you were ok. I'm sure fatigued played a hand in it. You were up early and put a lot of miles on the bike yesterday!

Tony post the pics!

The one weekend it doesn't rain both days I have someone visit from out of town. I need to get myself to the next ride.

For anyone that was in the market for one Revzilla has a lot of Scorpion helmets on close out sale with some damn good prices. Dainese stuff on sale too.

@fleemos 30-40% chance of rain this weekend. If you or anyone else want to chance it and ride, I'll venture out with you.

Hey guys and lady! Sorry it took so long to post up pics but my internet connection at home has been down since Friday and could not load them from my phone...anyways....

It was a great safe ride Saturday! Lots of fun and laughter and twistys. Yeah we got behind some slow pokes but all in all for a Saturday I thought it was great.

The chances for rain keeps increasing: the weekend's ride might not happen.

@DroHernandez you fixed your bike and got new tires?

Yeah Shell the weather is not looking so good. If we can even trust the forecast this far ahead then the following weekend should be a lot better.

Not yet, but I think I might just get stock tires since I want to upgrade by next year anyways. We'll see though. I'm Not entirely sure

If you plan to do twisties, do not get stock tires. If you get IRCs, avoid mountain rides.

I'm just saying, if you're buying "new tires", get tires you can trust if you wanna ride twisties. Shellman's riding smart within his limits. We all were...that's what I loved about the group! It was a great day!

I'm just so broke! I want to get nice tires but they're so damn expensive! Haha! I understand it's my safety and all, but are the stock tires really THAT bad?

I posted this somewhere else too, but I'd like to ask my fellow Georgians. What do you guys think?
"I have never ridden at night, and never ridden in the rain. I'm at my girlfriend's parent's house and It's supposed to rain. I rode the bike, because I hadn't ridden it at all today, and it was a BEAUTIFUL day. Therefore, in about an hour and a half I will be riding in the WET and in the dark. Any suggestions?? Oh, worst part is, my friend gave me his helmet, and I don't have another one. His helmet has a SUPER tinted face shield (or whatever you call it). I know, call me stupid I KNOW lol. However, I'm in the situation and reaching out for some advice "

As a new rider who's only ridden a bike with stock tires, I have no other point of reference. I know they are not the best tires out there but they were on my bike when I purchased it and didn't need replacing.

I haven't had any problems with them. I know they have greater limitations than other tires so I ride very cautiously on them: no aggressive acceleration in turns or otherwise, very little ride in the rain, leave lots of space for braking and stopping. Those tires are hard and take a long time to heat up if they ever.

If something were to happen to my tires I would replace them with something better. I understand money maybe an issue but your tires are the only things separating you from the road. With my stocks I'll upgrade once I've put some decent miles on them. Afterwards, the bike will never see those tires again. Tires should be UPGRADED.

I am at 6500 on the stock IRCs and I fling that thing all over the place. Putting on Dunlop 501s next weekend as the back tire is pretty smooth. Supposed to be way better so I'll give feedback after I get them.

Alex I think you said your front it pretty worn so try to change it even if you go back on stock tires, you probably shouldn't be putting yourself in a position to need crazy amounts of grip for a while anyway.

I just did a check though, don't know where you checked but using motorcycle superstore

IRC 111.99 (stock)
Dunlop GT501 120.99
Pirelli Sport Demon 115.99
Bridgestone BT45 119.99

The IRC is only barely cheaper than the others and from reviews I read they are all better options. Probably not even worth getting the IRC.

Is anyone interested in riding around Blood Mountain on August 25th? I just got some new rearsets and I'd like to get used to them before my next track day.

If I'm fortunate enough to have enough money for a new tire SET id be undoubtedly down for it. As long as I can keep my slow nooby pace I'd be more than happy to do it.

Of course. I don't encourage anyone to attempt to ride outside of their abilities. I don't consider myself fast to begin with, but I tend to ride slower with people that I haven't ridden with before anyways. I've already seen as many crashes in the mountains as I care to see.
