cleaned radiator air intake cap, changed earl and put racing earl filter on, replaced non oem air filter as well, and repacked non oem cans. Buddy went over non oem carbs which cost me. got timers at the beeline tonight at 1/4 and 1 mile stands. my little girl has great gag reflex but i'm gauranteeing she gets all that air she's dying for when she runs upto/over three figures.

installed the2wheel brake+clutch levers that arrived in the post this morning.
only time will tell if this was $70 well spent. i always have the oem levers to fall back to if they somehow don't last for ever and ever, lol

about to turn 22k so I:
1. changed oil and filter 2. new plugs 3. replaced chain (with a gold one - looks sweet) 4. replaced sprockets (front and rear as not to ruin the new chain) |

James,
Please share your impressions of the mods you've done once you've had some time and miles with them. Nice choices. |

The GPS is new on the bike so once I figure it out I will post up, it's a waterproof one (up to like 3') so it should be great for the bike and wasn't expensive like motorcycle ones. Has some easy push buttons so may be able to operate with gloves... I usually pull over before messing with it anyway. The tires are new, and the sizes are new new to me 110/150, before I had stock size but after some research on here I went with the wider rear and both front and rear in matching radials. Time will tell so I will post back on these too. I have the following mods on my 250 already since last year, these are for the wifes 250... Real spools - I like Shogun stuff, very sturdy and easy to get on the stands... just ordered my own stands, was using a friends prior. 12 volt Powerlet - Nice complete package with weather proof cover, wiring, fuse. I flush mounted mine on the right inner fairing, not sure where she wants hers yet. Rear brake modulator - easy plug-in unit to help warn other drivers. My riding group says it really stands out when I hit the brakes. Mirror wideners - easy way to extend the stock mirrors, allows me to see around my elbows, I didn't want to have to move around or tuck my arms in to see... could be vital seconds wasted. |

Wasn't bad but I really hope it's good to go on 1st try as having the carbs apart and the fragile gasket wasn't something I want to keep messing with. |

Removed the washers from our 2011... it bogged out under 6k. Went from 2 washers to 1 with a similar result, bogging under 5k. It's back to stock now and running well I'm just going to remove the rear 42 tooth sprocket as it doesn't pull as strong as my 2008 (pipped and jetted) with the 15/42 setup. So the 2008 will stay with 15/42 and the 2011 with 15/45.

Today...
Installed 12 volt outlet: Installed air horn: Installed tinted windscreen: Installed frame sliders: Notching the cover wasn't fun, with the right tools this should have taken 1 minute, with a 20 year old hack saw it took 15: All done... |

hmmm... that's odd. perhaps that bike is set up correct from the factory (mixture screw setting wise) and adding washers makes it too rich?

I removed the 2-Bros. slip-ons and installed OEM chrome mufflers..
Before: After: Much quieter ride now. 2-Bros. did allow the engine to rev up much quicker, also loose much of the back pressure in the exhaust system. Happier neighbors for sure. |
