You won't regret it, man the bike feels like they came out of the factory after the carb clean.

Hard to believe at one time that black stuff was fuel. The brass jets underneath, once revealed, will no doubt show some nasty damage. It'll be interesting to see, I'll leave them intact for a pic I'll eventually post. Thankfully, I've got spare jets involved.

Challenging, a lotta work ahead on these nasties, actually Mikuni BDST34 from a 750 Ducati Monster twin. Similar Mikunis were used on old 90's Yamaha FZ, some Suzuki fours too.

For informational purposes...I'll try and get history from owner to see how long they sat.

turns out was a "barn find", sat untouched by current owner for 2 years, unfortunately no previous owner timeline available.

As the pictured carb is far worse than the other, i'll venture to say it was left on its side stand many years filled with unstabilized fuel.

separate vacuum leak diagnosed/fixed, carbs' internal circuits cleared, float levels, mixture adjustments corrected, starts on the click of the button, stable idle, responding to throttle.
New battery, intake manifolds, oil & fuel filters, oil & coolant, final drive oil, spark plugs...(basically a full service minus valves)

This big-ass 650 pound touring ST1100 Honda (V4 carbed powerplant) is ready to rock after tire and valve replacement....next on the list. I await shipment.

My Saturday here....missing various parts, clogged in numerous areas, vent hose misrouted and kinked shut between the poorly setup carbs, bowl hardware obscenely tightened to compensate for crushed oring seals, pilot screws (missing washers) closed shut, every single oring crystallized solid, decel valve sticking, air correction jets clogged........on and on.

I'll submit the owner will not recognize them as his own AND the 250 involved will now run like a champ (provided no other issues on bike).

Not quite done yet....these required some chutzpah, determination, and experience in knowing where to seek and how to eliminate problem areas. Splitting mandatory in this repair.

Yeah, "carbs are easy"....right.

This 650 lb Honda behemoth is certainly the opposite side of motorcycling from the perspective of ninjette and such lightweight sporties. Their (mature) owners rave on its comfort, reliability and pile many miles on....200K+ not unusual at all.

Gulp...I will test ride after new tire install before handing it back to the 70 year old local owner (friend of a friend). Want to assure no running issues whatsoever. I gotta admit, its size and weight are rather intimidating. Being a lightweight I had to employ additional help to get it up on the centerstand!

Current "corona" project...in process of restoring an original Holley 1 barrel carb off a 1958 Ford F100 pickup. Goal to make both functional and return it to its former glory by owner request. I'll post before/after when done.

Interesting old brass float setup and ball bearing type check valves and drillings (rather than jets) controlling flow and spray...this one an oldie alright.

Honda Shadow carbs essentially done, I await new float bowl gaskets. In the meantime, doing valve clearances.

Interesting older Honda/Keihin carbs...some parts/orings common to 250!

The formerly spitting, sputtering, loudly popping Honda 750 Shadow is now done and complete, a successful victim of carb voodoo. Fully serviced and fully rideable, though the open, loud fishtail exhaust is utterly obnoxious, IMHO.....back to owner it goes. And today has officially left the building. Direct quote via text from owner "unbelievable, great throttle response, no hesitations, just perfect".

Just a reminder, I welcome petcock repair inquiries, with or without being accompanied by carbs.
As new 88-07 petcocks retail at $115, I'd guess it would be worth it to inquire.
All spares are in stock, no delays.

I sent the carbs from my '05 over to ducatiman back in 2020, I think, and I'm such a lazy forum member I'm only just getting around to saying it was the best decision I could have made.

Everything worked flawlessly out of the box and all my terrible, chewed-up fasteners had been replaced with nice stuff I can actually put tools on. The bike has been perfectly happy ever since.

cleaning and refurb service, I'll send a PM with further info.
I have a 2012 Kawasaki Ninja 250R EX250J that I could use some carb work done on. I bout the hike off a guy who stooped rebuilding it due to family issues, and I finally got all the mechanical pieces hooked up to there respective spots but my carb is leaking fuel from somewhere on the bottom near the bowls.

Won it on eBay, and had to pick it up, 2000 miles, 4 states, in 25 hours, total cannonball style.

1987 Honda Hurricane 1000, 19k miles, it runs, but only with the choke on, and that's about it.

It's had a hard time, cracked fairings, etc... but it's got good bones.

AKA "Hurricane Harvey"

PS you'll be getting the carbs soon.
