Folding Foot Controls: Do they Exist?

I was once a new rider and I've had a few occasions where the bike tipped over with me on or off it. I am currently in the final stages of finishing my 250R project for the wife and was wondering if there was currently anything made that would "fold" when dropped so they are less likely to break?

I've take a look at the foot controls on the 250R and they thinner, especially the rear brake control lever. Any insight or recommendations would be great.

BTW - I made an executive decision to REMOVE the stock driver pegs because they were awkward and kept catching on my pant legs and replaced them with a set of rear passenger pegs. = )

To answer my own question.

www.cyclepirates.com makes them.

They did not show that they made them for the 250R but I did email to ask.

Check it out.

I just spoke with the someone from Cycle Pirates and they stated that they would consider making the levers if there was a high enough demand for them. Call and ask if you are interested as it looks like that's the only way to get their attention. As far as I know, no one currently makes anything like this for the 250R.

The levers are VERY malleable. I had a stupid mishap at 15-20 mph last Feb on the left side. The shift lever "bent in as much as possible" which isnt much. It wasnt enough to render it immeadiatly unusefull as I picked her up off the ground and shifted my sorry ass back home.
To repair All I had to do was yank off the lever, throw it in a vise, and easily tap it back to where it belonged. To finish it off I threw some paint on the very end which got grinded off alittle.
If she's gonna go down, I'd let her do it on the stock levers and replace em when they cant take anymore.

Sounds good to me. I've had friend drop their bikes before and they all just broke, but they were doing some... spirited riding... its good to know that they are easy to bend. We tried to bend one my friends bike that went down and it snapped and we had to get it towed home. = (

Ya. It bent in mostly along the arm itself. I watched the bike rocking along its side, tires to fairing, as it slid all the way to the curb. The arm bent in less then say .75". Now if the wheels went over the curb and the arm got snagged head on buy the curb nothing would have saved it regardless.

I also didnt have my frame sliders on yet either. I dont know how much help they would have been when it comes to the shift or the brake levers, but I'd hope they would atleast help.

I think if something is gonna snag period then something is gonna snap. If she goes down at high speed then theres gonna be a whole lot more wrong than just a lever If its a slow turn dump or a garage or parking lot mishap things should definitly be just fine.
