Sorry I havent been able to get together for a ride with you Ramy. I have been so busy with work and school.

If anyone is down for a ride we can find some place centrally located for all to meet at.
No worries brotha, priorities first! I'm going to be busy with work and school as well come the 21st of aug, just work now. Saturday works for me as long as it's in morning/cuts into early afternoon. I have a 4 PM night shift on sat.

Welcome! I live in the Gainesville area and work in Chantilly. I usually commute on nice days and get out on the weekends when I can. I am always game for a group ride through some new twisties.

Im totally down for this if I am in the area. We could meet at Front Royal and go as far as we want! I would like to see how much of it I could ride.

This pic was from my last time on skyline 4th of July. Since I have changed the 14t for a 15t in the front and plasti dipped the windshield. Having bixenon headlights installed too.

It is, the only problem is you can only go 35 on the road and park police patrol it... Not that I go fast on it, but there are some parts where just a little faster would be nice. The ride is nice though.. We should plan a fall ride if we plan ahead maybe we could get a big ride. I have a friend on a 250 as well.

Skyline drive is a low-speed, scenic view.

There are some roads that are around that area that would be much faster paced with some nice twisties to carve. Would make for a good day i think.

Its definitely a worthwile ride.

DC resident here but love riding out in VA, MD and WV. I've been riding a 2008 newgen for 1 season now. Kind of bad timing to find these forums, as 50 degrees is about as low as I can ride in my current gear.

I'd say the best way to find out is to just ride around taking as many turns as you feel like to find back roads, they're usually not hard to find. I'd help you out but unfortunately I live in northern MD so I don't really know the sandy point/kent island area.

Thanks Johnny B. I'll keep checking in and come out for a ride when I return to town in March and get my new 250R ready to roll. Shouldn't take long. She's inspectable right now, I'm pretty sure. Btw, do they do an emission test during MD bike inspection? I'm more or less new to the area.

I don't remember them doing an emissions test when I had my inspection done though they may and I just didn't see it since it wasn't an issue.

Emissions is done separately. And done every two years (depends on the county sometimes though). It's not part of the initial inspection. Inspection in MD however, is only once. Which is awesome.

Hey Sykes, thanks for the inspection info about Maryland. So they only inspect the bike once but run an emission test every 2 years? That seems a bit strange but not any stranger than a lot of gov't doings, I guess.
The bike will be registered in Montgomery County. Any insights into what their take on bike emissions is?
thanks,
Baz
