Is it possible to adjust the friction zone?

When I took the MSF, I practiced on a Ninja 250 and the friction zone was about halfway out from the handlebar. I grew really comfortable with this in the 10 hours I rode that bike.

However, the Ninja 250 I just bought is really different. The friction zone is pretty much all the way out there, a lot farther than I'm comfortable with. I even thought the bike was broken at first because there was no go when I 'thought' I was engaging the clutch.

Is there anyway to adjust the friction zone to come closer?

Yes, it can be adjusted a bit. But the best way to do it is by adding adjustable levers. (relatively cheap & easy mod). Related threads:

It can be done engine side. Moving the cable up moves it closer to the handle bar and moving it down moves the friction zone outward.
