Asian Cycle Flush Mounts
I just got my new Asian Cycle flush mount signals in today. I decided to go with the clear lenses since my bike is silver. On the website it says i need 1003 type bulbs. Clear bulbs of this type can be found in any auto store but i need amber ones. Anyone know where i can get some?

I had a tough time finding those bulbs myself. I ended up having to get them from the stealership for almost $6 a pop!!! Just shop around a bit. You'll find something. Take your bulb socket with you so the shop people can see if the bulb fits.

good luck finding them - you might just have to go through the dealer for them

so I just gave up. I went to the local motorcycle shop and a car dealership and neither could even order it for me. I ended up getting clear bulbs and coloring them with yellow sharpie. I know this is ghetto rigged but its the best i could come up with. The flush mounts look sweet on my bike.

I think that's going to fade. You'll want to look into ordering them if they're not available readily.

two words.. bulb dye.. try a hobby store.. dye the bulbs by brushing it on.
I did that for teh monster tach on my Mustang.. it had a white bulb.. but all other gauges have a green bulb cover.. they dont make a bulb cover that fits that bulb though.. so I dyed it.. and it has been about 10 years now.

I put a set on mine after the first year, nice for a tight fit in the garage. Easy install.

these are the signals we got for Bre's bike. they seem like decent quality. I like how the website gives you so many choices, kinda lame I had to order the bulbs seperate, though. but that gives you the option to order led's or whatev color you want. coming in pieces is cool for painters as well, makes it easy to prep for paint if you need to.

Keith, like many vendors, has moved away from E-bay and all its fees. The Colorite match he does is very good for the price. I've installed four separate pairs over the years.

For future people who run into this, I'm pretty sure regular 1156 bulbs replace 1003 bulbs and you can get them in amber at any auto parts store for around $3/pair. Both 1003 and 1156 use the BA15S base.
Good for him. BTW, I got excellent service from him, he responded to my emails within minutes when I was having trouble ordering off the website. Highly recommended. |

I'm pretty sure 1156 bulbs have a larger glass envelope that might create clearance problems...

You're right, 1156 bulbs don't, er, barely fit in the flush mounts and rub the lens. Excuse me!
P.S. After scouring the internet, I found exactly one vendor who sells amber bulbs that will fit, scroll down to "LB67A." http://www.lightlens.com/coloredbulbs.htm Type 67 replaces 1003. I can't vouch for this vendor either, he accepts only checks and there's no phone number. Clear 1003s and nail polish might be easier. Last futzed with by Zim; January 22nd, 2010 at 07:49 PM. |

I ordered some bulbs that were marked as 1003 on the site, but ended up being 1156. there's no way these would fit.
I just ordered some led's instead off of ebay. we'll see how they work. I like that there is not a big old bulb. we got a clear lens, so you can see inside. they are here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-Amb...Q5fAccessories |

I wonder how long it took for you guys to receive your order, or get a confirmation that its been shipped or something?
and I ask this because I ordered a set about a week ago and can't get any response via e-mail with it being returned shortly after unsent and of course no number to call... Im feeling as if maybe they aren't in business anymore or something. http://www.asiancycle.com/ ((((( MailEnable: Message Delivery Failure. It has been awhile, but I recall that it takes a bit longer because it is being shipped from Asia. I would think that one week is too soon to expect delivery. I think 1 - 2 weeks should be expected.
AsianSignals.com is their Led light devision. Did you try WebContact@AsianCycle.com ? |

I got the same turn signals and tried using the same bulb that came in the stock turn signals. The bulb fit, but I don't know if it's the right bulb or if it will even work. I shall see tomorrow.

Asian Cycle - Out of Business???
Well I go to buy some flush mounts last week and saw that Asian Cycle is closing up shop and their website said they may not be back. Bummer! I liked the look of their flushmount signals.
Now that they are out, who's the next best manufacturer? I read about Blazer lights but they don't have the clean look that Asian Cycle has. |

Anyway, he said that he had to modify the fairings a little bit to install them. I thought they were made to fit the 250 and didn't require any modification. Is that normally the case? |

Usually, from what I've read, you have to cut the hole a little bit bigger for the bulge of the bulb to fit in, but it's covered by the signal whether the stock is bolted in or the flush mounts.

Go to a RV dealer, they use that bulb in overhead lighting fixtures.

The bigger hole in the fairing is actually accommodating the socket, which is at an angle facing the front. The bulb is inside the lens

If you still want flushmounts, D2moto has some that are "for" our bike. They also have some that look like an exact copy of the asiancycle ones. If you really want them to match, go to www.colorrite.com and buy the proper color rattlecan. Thats who asiancycle used to color match their signals anyways
**edit** the page on D2moto with signals is this. http://www.d2moto.com/c-638-led-turn-signals.aspx They're out of stock on most things, but it gives you an idea what to look for. **/edit** |
