tap the old ones out from the opposite side. best to press the new ones in by the outer race, but tapping them in with a large socket on the outer race works too... go slow so you dont put it in crooked.

Put the bearings in the freezer to help shink them. It will make it easier to put in and once they come up to temp they are good to go.
EDIT: As mgentz below my post has pointed out....over night.

Ive never experienced putting new wheel bearings in. If freezing them overnight, will it shrink enough to be able to just push them in by hand or should just a lot easier with the proper tools? I have this tool set: http://www.harborfreight.com/10-piec...set-95853.html

It is not hard to slide the new ones in if they stay perfectly perpendicular to the axis of the wheel.
There is a light press fit (interference) between the exterior ring of the bearing and the aluminum housings of the wheel, which should be conserved by shrinking the first with some cold and expanding the later with some heat. http://www.motorcycle.com/how-to/str...ings-3405.html http://www.dansmc.com/wheelbearing.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interfe...or_contraction http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Engineering_fit When using this method, no force is needed to remove or to insert the bearings, they just fall in by their own weight. If temperature differential is not used, the housings in the wheel will get slightly bigger after the first installations and the bearing will slide sideways first and will increase the diameter of the housings slowly but surely after several thousands of miles. Never force or hit the interior ring of the new bearings. Clean all the surfaces completely, no lubricants should be here.
