Tonight I'll grab some pics/vids. I need to straighten the forks and adjust the carb so it idles. The brakes suck so I need to look into that. I'm not sure what the stock master cyl piston size is compared to the zx6r one I used. Not sure if that is the problem or just bad pads.

I'll take the wheels off and take them to the shop to have my new dirt tires put on. Might get to take her out on the trails this weekend!

Fugly but she works. New tires are going on tomorrow night. Got her up to highway speeds with no issues. So far so good.

What, was it in a fire? lol

But seriously, if it's in good mechanical condition that's all that matters. Plastics and other little cosmetic bits should be cheap and not hard to find for the Dizzer.

How do you think the dr would respond to ported intake valves and and opened intake? Make it more top heavy in the powerband? I want one, just not so sure how I'll do with a pure tractor motor. I love the pull up top of a sporty bike that's track worthy

I see hooliganism in your near future.

Some of my friends up in Seattle have some awesome videos of their rides. Going up and down stairs, jumping off loading ramps, back alley shenanigans....good times.

Pssh tractor motors are fun! Have you ridden a single cylinder dual sport/Sm before?

Nope. But I want the MTB-esque side of motorcCycling so I'm hell bent on buying one. And more exploring time where I don't have to worry about dumping my pretty fairings. But it has has has to be track worthy.

Why Did that thumbs down?!?

Someone makes a bore kit for it and it apparently opens it up. Add an FCR carb and from what I gather it makes close to 70-80hp.

I find the stock 35ish hp is fine for me right now. It pulls hard. Not quite 600 hard but it keeps me under the speed limit unlike a 600.

Post vids please. On a recent ride I found a "scenic route" along the way. IE sidewalks and a construction area.

Nope. I was cruising around on an XT225 but this is a whole different ball game.

Lemme know when you are in this area. I'd love to ride with you. I think we are going to hit up Blood Mountain this Sunday if you want to come.

Let me know when you decide on a date! Been thinking of taking my KLX to Lil Tally for my first track day. But now that I have an SV650 been thinking of taking it to Barber for my first track day. Still don't know what I'll do. Or when. Haha.

Practicing my necromancy. Any exciting new things/experiences for the DRZ in 2015?

Holy cow this was resurrected from the dead. I've added and subtracted a few bikes since then. Not counting fleet bikes my current bike is a 2011 Triumph Street Triple R.

Strangely enough I miss the DRZ so much I started shopping for another supermoto this week. I miss it, bad.

Yep, expert necromancer right here. I was looking for supermoto info, and this forum is a little....threadbare...on that topic. That's understandable given the forum's focus, but kind of a bummer because the posts here tend to be more useful than some (many) other places.

I look forward to hearing what you find, whenever you find a new SM!

Just about everything, to be honest!
Specificity would probably help you help me though, so how about maintenance intervals? Anything you have to offer is appreciated.

At least one of the popular SM conversion targets had a 5 hr interval for...something, I don't recall. Having spent nearly that long on my CBR yesterday makes me worry that I'd spend more time wrenching than riding. That can be fun, but it's not my preferred balance. Not coming from a mx or otherwise relevant background, operating hours isn't a system I intuitively feel like miles ridden. Short intervals seem to be the trade-off for performance in this bike segment, far more so than non-Ducati sportbikes.

It wholly depends on what you buy. A drz400 s or sm is pretty much a tank. Pretty similar to the Ninja 250. Heavy steel frame, solid suspension and a motor good for just about anything you throw at it.

If you supermoto a 2 stroke race bike that is a whole different animal. Top end rebuilds often (your mileage may vary, literally).

There are some popular supermotos that have a pretty decent track record. drz400sm, klx s-models, wr x-models, crf x-models. You can find most of those in a 250 or 450 cc engine selection.

I got that KTM 525 exc tonight. I'll let you know how it rides tomorrow.
