Replacing tires. Current sport performers?

So I'm going to be replacing tires soon-ish. I did a few searches, and the latest I found was from 2016. Seeing if there were any updated tires/compunds that you can recommend.

I live in Houston Tx, so it gets sticky hot, and wet often. Currently the Ninjette is my daily commuter, since my car has failed.

2008 Ninja 250R (I also have the 2006, but that is currently down for maintenance )

My criteria.

Sticky.
Wet weather.
Spirited riding.

- Not concerned with mileage.- nor interested in dual compound "TOUR /sport"

If a better compound is available in a wider size, but not stock width, then I can go with that. As long as the tire doesnt get pinched, or need a swingarm upgrade. For once I am happy with stock, but like I said, no issues going larger, if needed.

Current rubber is Pirelli Sport Demons, ( 4 to 5 years old) out in front and back.

Recommendations?

"I want a new bike! It needs to have 100bhp, weigh 200-lbs and gets at least 120 mpg. Oh, and it should cost me only $1000 max!!!"

Wet-weather (rain) riding is pretty much exclusive of sticky dry spirited riding tyres. Some more quantitative data may help narrow down compromised choices. Is it 50/50 rain vs. dry riding? Or 25/75% or 75%/25%?

Maybe start with Metzler Lasertec tyres which is probably best 50/50 tyre. Then change as you get more concrete data.

I'm happy with the Pirelli Sport Demons in the rain. Depending on price comparison to others, I might stick with those.

Thx danno!

Another idea is get spare set of wheels for dedicated rain tyres.

After my first season, I realized nothing compares:

rain tyres > 15-20s/lap faster than racing tyres
rain tyres > 10-15s/lap faster than treaded street tyres

Yes, street tyres are faster than race tyres in rain and rain tyres are fastest of them all! With power-tools, it takes about 5-min to swap wheels.

(spitz out Dr.Pepper through nose)

I'm not THAT hard core, for commuting Danno! BUT, if I do start getting to shave seconds, or minutes off my commute, I'll definitely know where to look.
