looks like its more designed to keep the head from floppin around, it must have sucked being the R&D dummy for this haha.

They've been trying them out in the 125 and 250 GP series for a few riders for the last year or two, I don't think any of them are commercially available for the street yet. Anything to protect against a catastrophic neck injury seems like a good idea if it is proven to work reasonably well I guess.

I wonder how it detects when to deploy. For everyday use i would be worried if one were to sit down and make the bags deploy =/
other than that, it looks like it does a pretty good job covering the shoulder blades if one were to tumble in that perfect way. |

I've been following this development for years. The D-Air system is the most promising system out there. Unfortunately, no plans for importation into the US exist due to prototype phase (no production units available) and litigation.

From what I have read it is a rip cord that takes somewhere between 45-60 pounds of force to rip. That way if you forget to d/c you will be reminded by a pretty good tug.
