'prime' changes the fuel feed to gravity fed instead of vacuum fed. since the fuel line is heading downhill (unless you've got the tank/bike in a *very* interesting position) it supplies fuel to the carbs nonstop. I'm sure there's a reason for this setting other'n draining the tank, but at 2:30 in the morning, I can't think of why you'd need to use it other than to make the initial start-up after removing the fuel lines a little easier.

I forget if it's labeled "ON" -- but turn to the left to close the valve, and to the right to open it.
Original position is closed (turned all the way to the left), such that the groove of the flathead is parallel with the bike. Correct me if i'm wrong Ninjette! |

Just to clarify, "prime" is gravity feed (will drain if you unplug the fuel lines/tank), "on" s vacuum feed (should not drain from lines/tank unless there's suction on them). Most people leave the petcock on "on"

From what I understand, the CA tank has some additional emissions/fuel evaporation hardware attached to bungs coming off the the front left side of the tank. Non-CA tanks only have one bung up there instead of three.

Sir, that is the bike I have wanted since I was too young to know there were other sport bikes besides ninjas. That is exactly what I've pictured in my minds eye for the past 10+ years. I am so jealous! |

The second bike pictured is Beast's. I do believe the KawiForums kid is the first white new gen 250r. He wanted his bike to match his white Subaru. Cool kid from what members have said.

It's a popular mod, but it doesn't "muffle" anything... the baffles and cats are cut off so it's just a tip for open headers. It really does match the styling, but some kind of baffles would have to be added earlier in the exhaust system to be something we could all enjoy.

Hey JR, great looking bike! I actually plan on painting mine white and black as well, so was looking for some tips. Did you paint it yourself or bring it to the shop? If you did it yourself, what was the process? Thanks!
