I just saw a video (which I now cannot find) of a popular motovlogger crashing a Ducati because he tried to pass van on the right shoulder of the road and hit the curb.

This video the bike pretty much just had a yard sale.

He left the kickstand down, it dragged, lifted the back & he highsided as it came back down.

You can see the track it scratched at 3 minutes

I've no idea what they used to hold it together, it came apart spectacularly

accidentally leaving a kickstand down happens to the best of us. i believe i've caught most of my friends trying to take off with a down kickstand at least once. it's pretty nice the ninja has a kickstand kill switch

That crash didn't look very fast (bad camera angle though)...but man that Duc came fully apart. I am kinda curious as to why that Duc was down to frame, almost seemed like plastics/tank weren't even mounted properly.

It's just a plastic shell on most Ducs, I believe (as well as many others, I'm sure.)

That tank is all steel. On that bike the front of the tank is held in with a pin and only bolted from the back.

I thought ducati kick stands came up automatically. Why would you even post a video like that?

Looks like he had the bike "mostly disassembled" before the ride. There were no side fairings and he most likely did not have the tank and rear plastic bolted down properly. Those bikes do come apart pretty fast but I have seen them crash at the track at much higher speeds with less coming off of them. Ducati side stands do not come up automatically and they do come with safety/stall switches from the factory. This leads me to believe he just threw it together to ride it and did not properly secure anything! Well at least he only did $10,000 worth of damage for a 30 second ride! Gotta pay to play

judging by the camera angle, he was staring 2 feet in front of him.
