Which pod filter do you use?
I'm going to be installing pod filters and re-jetting but I really haven't seen any decent feedback on any of the 4 brands . Ninja250.org has a little bit of information about fitment but there's really nothing else. Do design (conical or straight) or length (4",5",6") have any effect?

I use the K&N 0990 filter pod .It is a single filter with two openings. It is made for the Triumph Bonneville. It fits perfect.

Same here.
I'm using the R-0990 also. Be prepared for a pretty substantial increase in intake noise in the upper half of the rev range.

Here is a link on the pod issue that might give you some more food for thought.

I'm using uni-pods, because that's what came with my Area-P exhaust. I may change when I need new filters, but right now, they're working fine. I have no idea which model number they are though, but you could email or PM Kerry Bryant, the owner of Area-P. They're awesome people and I'm sure they would love to tell you which part they use for this.

Man if I had known about these, it would have made my life easier. I have the K&N 0990 filter pod and it was hard to put on because once I put one side on, the other side would come off. It was a headache.

WD-40 or some kind of lube works pretty well to slip these on.
http://www.amazon.com/R-0990-Univers...8569417&sr=8-2 R-0990 at amazon is 33 plus some change and free shipping to add. you will need to Jet you bike if you do this per wikifaq. which can be found here http://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/Rejetti...ng_pod_filters Ronayers.com sells these jets for 7.11 each plus shipping and handling.

Here's a small factoid now that I'm about halfway through the install. The Uni Pods (6" Dual Stage) weigh 60g each. The part of the airbox that I removed weighs 880g. Weight savings of 1.45 pounds so far.

The hardest part of the whole operation was getting that damn airbox out. I spent 2 hours trying to get it out intact then just gave up and took it out in 3 pieces. On the plus side you can cut the battery box off with a Dremel and bolt it back in.
What's the deal with the hose running from the airbox to the CA emissions, should I plug it or leave it exposed? |

If it goes to the carbs then it needs a filter on the open end.
