What are these holes??

So I had removed a sticker that was above my speedometer. Apparently it was hiding 2 holes. Anyone know what the holes are for? I don't see them in anyone else's pictures. Only thing I can think of is I do have HID's, but didn't think drilling was needed. Thanks!

No idea, but someone put them there. The bike doesn't come like that. Maybe a failed mount for an additional gauge, phone, GPS, etc.?

Jeepers you could run the LED light of an alarm system in thru 1 of those holes and use the 2nd hole for the Light Sensor on a headlight modulator... those holes are darn convenient now

The strange thing is that those "holes" appear to be square and not round...

They were also pretty obviously cut by eye, they're off-center and not aligned with each other. Maybe someone did it with a dremel? Why they would make poorly-cut square holes instead of poorly-cut round holes is a mystery though. I'd agree with Alex, it looks like they were trying to mount something like a GPS or radar detector.
