Some dirt riding with my '07 250

So I found myself wandering around outside of Yuma AZ. I saw a sign indicating there was some hiking a few miles away, so I followed it. I ended up at the base of a double track dirt road for quads and such. I decided to see what my street tires and stock suspension were capable of. After a couple miles the track got pretty rough and I found a sign saying I needed an off road permit, so I turned back and got some pictures along the way.
The little ninja did pretty well despite some rocks, soft gravel, washouts, and a little sand. If I were to do it again I would want some higher handle bars for the portions where I was standing (and maybe a KLR for that matter).

In a lot of states, if you a have license plate you don't need the ORV tag.

Cool stuff!

Nice!

Fun little adventures to be had when just wandering around exploring where the trail leads. Thanks for sharing!

I know it feels better, but don't stand on those pegs. I had mine break in the normal breaking spot about 5 miles after standing up on some nasty rutted and washboard dirt.

If I had been moving, it would, have been very very bad.

We have used the ninjas as they shouldn't be many times, it's actually pretty good in the easy stuff

I'm a nube who hasn't bought a Ninja yet... wondering about the pegs... when my legs needed stretching I often stood on my pegs on other bikes. I guess you wouldn't recommend it on a Ninjette?

You can, it's just a longer reach to the bars. Riders can do amazing things.

I half-stand up on mine to go over rough spots in the road or railroad tracks. No biggie. I'm short, and I still reach the bars, even partly standing.

It's fine, I was standing up riding on some nasty rough dirt "roads" that and my 300 pounds didn't help the peg bracket much.

More pics?

I didn't mean to hijack the thread with my question about the pegs. Sorry.

If you've got anymore pictures of your dirt riding experiences I'd love to see them...
