Hot Cams stage 1

Anyone tried the Hot Cams stage 1 (or 2) intake camshafts? I was debating on trying one then using my stock intake on the exhaust side.

Beet/Webcam/DCR too rich for my blood right now.

^^ that is an interesting thought as I know there are some other bikes where it is a common modification

Give us some specs:

- lift
- duration @ 1mm
- lobe-centres

Stock factory cams are way more aggressive than you think.

Specs aren't even listed on the hotcams site, which is why I asked if someone has actually run one. They should have a spec card with it.

I hate "stage 1/2/3/4/706 etc" as well, but responding like you did isn't going to get me to pull some magic numbers out by backside, thus my reason for asking this question from people that have actually run one, or have a spec sheet.

If I had all the specs, this question would not have been asked and I could have made my own decision.

Along the lines of what Jonathan-Philippe posted above, the stock 250s are pretty darned hot engines compared to most stock engines. I would be very leery of going for more power without some specific information and test data, because it would be easy to lose some bottom and midrange torque that I would not want to lose.

Why not ask the manufacturer for details?

I have emailed them.......no response yet.

I was hoping to speak with someone directly that has/had purchased one since this is a Ninja forum. Guess that was a mistake.

Because no one has responded that he/she has purchased one yet, it was a mistake? In any case, I get the feeling that my suggestions are not helping, so I'll bow out.
