Pretty exciting practice sessions this morning. Qualifying should be a nail biter if it starts to rain.

OMFG. The kid is a machine. Most exciting end to qualifying I've seen in awhile, even if the end result isn't that surprising.

You'd swear that he's made a deal with the devil. Unbelievable qualifying sessions. I really like the Q1 and Q2 format.

Side note-- What an effing embarrassment that MotoAmerica couldn't get this weekends race televised or streamed live especially since it's at COTA along with MotoGP.

Throw in a Le Mans-style start for good measure.

Marc Marquez ended more than two seconds earlier than Dovizioso and Rossi.

The atmosphere there while he was pulling that off was absolutely electric. Half of the people around me (myself included) were standing in anticipation. Amazing. Absolutely amazing.

Yeah he managed the gap to the end, once he hit the front there was no doubt that he was gone. MM93 owns that place.

Please clarify what you mean. I watched the race on tv and we had the streaming on the PC from Moto GP web site. Are you refering the the SBK/SS races? I watched all of Q1, Q2 and Race for all 3 GP classes.

MotoAmerica wasn't broadcast. That's the US series, that ran on the track the same weekend. (Josh Hayes, Josh Herrin, Elena Myers, etc.) I thought they had got the TV stuff worked out for that series, but apparently not.

Sadly for us mortals, TC isn't what lets him do that; it's all between the ears. The sliding of the rear tire is almost commonplace among the top riders on many turns, it's the sliding of the front tire that is visible in that clip that blows my mind. To be able to keep going at that speed, at that lean angle, while the bike is almost skipping along the pavement, is such a spectacle. Civilians would crash that bike 15 times a lap at that level of front slip.

Yup. Marquez f'd up. This is killing my fantasy team! (Marquez and Iannone). That was fun to watch, though. I called Annie into the room with 5 laps to go, knowing that it was going to be exciting. No idea it was going to be that exciting, though.

looking at the video above in slo mo does makes the first brush much more aggressive.. I wonder if his bike simply would not have started or if it was too heavy for him to lift up.. or if in those 10 or so seconds it was to late to get any points.. even if last place to get some points..

The bike was damaged beyond restarting that's why he ran so hard to get to it then just walked off and he saw the damage. most likely a broken left handlebar because he wouldn't have been able to see anything around the left rearset with the bike on it's side. I've always been impressed with how Marc doesn't linger on the fact that he crashed and jumps strait up and runs(quite fast) to the bike to pick it up.
