I've always been impressed with how Marc doesn't linger on the fact that he crashed and jumps strait up and runs(quite fast) to the bike to pick it up.
They don't have starters so he would have had to push start it, which probably would have taken a few tries, and even if it worked on the first try it probably would have been too late to get any points.

He had it coming. He frequently bashes his way past people, it finally bit him.

its possible that he was running to the get the engine stopped, he has opened 3/5 engines already this year.

Yes, but that was secondary. He wanted to get back in the race, realized he couldn't, and then dejectedly went for the kill switch.

Here's a quick rundown of the race that newsbot posted.

Anyone read a book about Rossi and MotoGP called Ring of Fire? Any good?

MotoAmerica just broadcast their 1st race weekend (Austin/COTA) yesterday. To be honest, the broadcast quality was pretty good. I thought the interviews they did were reasonably interesting, Colin Edwards makes for an entertaining host, and the racing wasn't terrible. It is a shame that it is so far delayed from live, as by the time it airs the results have been known for so long that the interest level is of course going to be lower. If they can get enough eyeballs to warrant live TV next year with a similar team, I think things could be moving in the right direction.

Repsol Honda’s Marc Marquez has been discussing the incident with Rossi in Argentina, and what lessons he will take from it.

At a media event in Barcelona on Wednesday, Reigning MotoGP™ World Champion Marc Marquez talked about crashing out of the race in Argentina after clashing with Valentino Rossi on the penultimate lap. This is what Marquez had to say after analysing footage of the incident: “After viewing the race several times, I still stand by what I said in Argentina. These things happen in racing, and you have to learn from it, and I am still young, so I have a lot of lessons to learn. That’s the thing with racing incidents, sometimes they benefit you, and sometimes they don’t.”

“But that is all part of the learning process. I am convinced that there was zero intention on my part or Rossi’s to cause the accident. I have always said that Rossi is my idol, and a benchmark for us all. I have learned a lot from him over the years, and I am still learning. Everything makes you better, even this crash.”

When asked about exactly what lessons he will take from the weekend, he replied: “On one hand I learnt about Rossi’s approach, choosing the extra hard tyre to attack at the end of the race, a tyre that I did not have a good feeling with in practice, so we decided to risk going with the softer compound (hard tyre). And the truth is, the gamble almost paid off, we just missed out by a lap and a half. I learned other things too, but those I will keep to myself.”

Marquez then discussed how he feels about his title chances, considering the fact he is 30 points behind Rossi in the standings, after just 3 races: “There are lots of things that make me feel very optimistic. For one, I could have won all three races so far. If I had not made the mistake at the first corner in Qatar, I think I would have been on the podium guaranteed. I won in Austin, and if I did not fall in Argentina, we would have finished second. So we are in good shape for the rest of the season, and we have done a good job so far. Secondly, in 2013 after the first six races, Dani (Pedrosa) was leading the standings, Jorge (Lorenzo) was second and I was third, 30 points behind Dani, and I still went on to win the title.”

He then touched on his relationship with Rossi, and whether the incident would affect it: “We are both okay with each other. We are two riders who know how to differentiate between life on and off the track. On track, everyone is looking out for their own interests, so I hope that does not change our relationship.”

Yeah,.. how'd that work out in the last two seasons?

Don't get me wrong, I love the fact that MM has some competition this year but there is still a long way to go in the season, and I wouldn't give the title to Rossi just yet.

Remember this?

Agreed in full. As much crap as Marc got barging his way through Moto3 & Moto2, and as aggressive as his riding has continued to be, he's just a likable character. When you compare this response, to the whinging of Stoner after Laguna 2008, the differences couldn't be starker. I hope Marc and Vale are chasing after eachother for a few more years.

I bought the MotoGP videopass. I only watch bike racing so I didn't get the cable sports package so I don't get CBS Sports. No MotoAmerica for me. Too bad, I was looking forward to streaming it. Wish Dorna would sell one videopass package for all of the series. Don't they own all of them including my favorite-- BSB?

Stoner aside, Marquez is an ass. He is never sorry for bashing people out of his way, even when he causes them to crash. He always blames chance and never takes responsibility. At least he didn't blame Rossi this time.

Yeah....... not sure what MM93 you have been watching but I would have to disagree. While I have no issue with anyone calling out some of his riding as being on the edge, I am not sure I can recall him acting disrespectfully or blaming other riders, or acting like an ass.

The worst I have seen him do is disagree that something was "over the line". And there have been a few, most notably the race in Qatar and the FP crash at PI in Moto2, that I shook a finger at myself. But seriously if you watch any Moto2 and Moto3 race, that type of riding happens every single race somewhere in the pack.

His GP career to me is considerably cleaner, with literally nothing I have seen him do that others (Rossi!!!!!) have not done in the past. I am not saying the kid is a saint, but certainly not deserving the label your placing IMHO.

And that is coming from a CS27 fan first and a MM93 fan second.

Maybe, but that's often typical of a Champion.

Ever hear of Ayrton Senna or Michael Schumacher? Neither made many friends while winning World Championships either.

I would like to add the the years before MM93, Stoner, Lorenzo and Pedrosa were trying to make racing a non-contact sport. Now that MM93 has arrived he brought back the element of "rubbing" is racing.

True.

Marquez had a chance to work on his form in Moto2, where, especially when Moto2 started, it was a contact-sport. That type of aggressive riding wasn't seen in MotoGP for the most part until he arrived.

Not everyone likes to play that game though.

JL99 was back on form and flat out untouchable. Kudos to MM93 for a heck of a race with an injury. Rough weekend for the Duc boys.

MotoGP wasn't much, but 2 & 3 were good show again. Crazy Joe did pretty well riding in rain mode for the whole race. His tires must have still looked brand new at the end.

Indeed.....it was interesting to hear about how adaptive the electronics were on the Duc that as it realized it had more grip it adjusted its "wet mode" settings to be more aggressive as the race went on.
