I wish mine was bigger
The windshield, I mean, just the windshield, that's all. I'm looking for something at least 8 over . Been in touch with Gustaffson plastics and he currently does not do 250's, laminar makes a great product but...not long enough...anybody have a supplier ?
thanks |

Merci BR.....checcked the site...looks promising. Have e-mailed them to find out if they offer anything taller and will advise if they do. I've used a laminar lip for years on other bikes and that "turned back lip" is very effective. Given the following the ninjette has, I'm really surprised that a true touring shield is not readily available. The ZG looks maybe 6-8"over. If nothing else is avail. I may try bending the ZG shield or making a lip and attaching it. Thanks again

The ZG Sport Touring windshield is 4.5" taller than the OEM one.

Sam...yeah,, ,noticed your bike in the first column....looks like more than 4.5" Nice.
Yet...I put a gustaffson 8 over on my fz6 and it was really nice. Am I just looking for too much here...somebody joked that the shield would be in my mouth if it was much longer. So far...ZG is the only one i've seen that starts to come close ot what I think I want. |

I'm 6'2" and the wind hits my face, if sitting up (which I do alot)! If you put the laminar shield on top of this, I think there would be safety issues....possibly too much flex. I don't want to discourage your ingenuity, however, since you need to do what makes you comfortable.

Good point with adding the lip. Yeah, at 6' tall I have a lot of exposure too.
Fact is that I may just have to get used to it and i'm OK with that too thanks |

Hey same....lemme ask you this too....any unusual fatigue in your wrists.
Again...coming off an fz6....I developed a noticeable amount of hurtin' in my left hand...pulling the clutch became painful after maybe 2 hours of stop and go....never ever in 40+ years did that happen |

Have you adjusted the angles of the levers for your body position? The clutch has more adjustability than the brake lever.

No, that was my first thought and i'm glad you suggested it because I've never had to adjust bars or levers...spinning the lever a few degrees has to be the easiets fix...will try it tomorrow
thanks |

Eddie,
I just looked at wikipedia on the FZ6. Since you are accustomed to riding more upright, it may be that your body is just revolting to the new position If your back is OK with the 250R position, you might just exercise your forearms/wrists to increase the wrist flexibility, etc. Get a rope (1/4" diameter by 3 ft long) and a section of a shovel handle (about 1 1/2 - 2" diameter) about 12" long. Drill a 1/4" hole in the center, pass the rope thru the hole and tie a knot in one end of the rope. Tie a 5 lb weight on the other end of the rope. Extend your arms in front of you, parallel to the ground, palms down, while holding the shovel handle in both hands. Using your hands roll the shovel handle and raise the weight without raising your arms, i.e. this is to build the wrist/forearm strength, not the shoulders!! Once the weight is rolled up to the handle, then reverse the direction and lower the weight, until the rope is fully extended. Do this 2-5 times every other day. After a couple of weeks, increase the weight to 10 lbs. |

You're a very knowledgeable guy Sam and i appreciate your suggestions. Maybe i can just go back to drinkin' and concentrate on the wrist rather than elbow motions.
I appreciate your help. Thank you eddie |
