[sportrider - features] - Video: Kawasaki H2R Hits the...airstrip?

Earlier this week, Ken Block released Gymkhana 7, a masterfully edited video which, in our opinion, was more likely to break the internet than any photo of Kim Kardashian lathered in some unsanitary amount of oil. In the video, Block beats, batters, and all-around defaces the LA streets in the most extreme '65 Ford Mustang you will ever lay eyes on. It really is an impressive display of four-wheel hooliganism that you'll absolutely enjoy—if you're a car guy.

And probably even if you're a motorcycle guy. Still, as we sat there and watched Block obliterate a set (or ten sets) of tires with his 845-hp Roush Yates V8, we couldn't help but think of what Kawasaki's Ninja H2R would be capable of. Surely, that bike's 300 horsepower and 476 pound (claimed) curb weight has to be just as entertaining. That bikes got to put on just as impressive a show. Right?

Kawasaki has more or less answered our question with the video above. Here you can see the H2R in a wind tunnel and heaving flames from its exhaust pipe while strapped to the dyno (at :32 seconds, there's actually a shot of the speedometer, which you should pay attention to). You can also see and hear the H2R at speed on an airstrip, which isn't exactly the streets of LA, but also probably one of the only places where you could actually put all of the H2R's power to use. The short video might not be as thrilling as Block's Gymkhana 7, but it'll still have you fired up over the bike—in case the previous teaser videos and photos have failed to do so.

In addition to this and other recently released videos, Kawasaki also released pricing information on the Ninja H2R. The bike will retail for $50,000, while the street-legal H2 will retail for "just" $25,000.
