Question about pirelli sport demons

I was told that sport demons don't come in stock ninja sizing of 100-80/16 and 130-80/16. They are only in 100-90/16 and 130-90/16. Will this cause problems with handling? Speedo? Clearance. I really want better tires than these dunrocks that I'm afraid to corner in the rain. Thanks.

Problems with handling? Just the opposite. That little size difference in the tire doesn't mean much compared to how much better the tire actually grips the road. It's a much, much, MUCH better tire. There are several threads on here about those tires. It's basically the first (and some consider it the ONLY) mod you should do with our pre-gens.

Speedo - It will actually get it closer to being correct then the stock tires. On average people note that the speedo is off by about 10%. I've noted that with the SD's it's no more then 5%, if that.

Trust me, you want these tires.

Thanks for the quick response. Looks like I'll have these mounted and balanced for just under 300. Love the bike but stock tires scare me in the rain.

Oh then these tires will help ALOT with that. I have gotten caught in a couple heavy rain storms here in Florida and didn't lose traction even with cross winds. I've also been able to get more mileage out of mine then most people say you should get. I've had mine on for some 10k+ and they still have tread-life left on them. I guess it all depends on how you ride.

I had the sport demons on my bike and loved them except for the fact that they raise the hieght of the bike.
I recently changed over to Pirelli Diablo tires which have excellent grip and come in stock size for front and rear. Don't let the term "scooter" tire scare you. These are motorcycle tires.

I love the sport demons. They are what I run. My next set of tires will probably be the SD's too.

130's aren't the proper size for the 250. 120/80's are, everyone just goes with the more choices in size. Personally I'd get the pirelli MT 75's for $100 less and they're made for the rim, soft for great performance, and if you take advantage of the performance, cheaper to replace. Going with 130's I went with the Dunlop GT 501's because of the same reason, performance. You'd see the dunlops at tracks not the demons, and they last longer if just street driven over the larger pirelli.
