Just ordered the Brasse fairing kit

I just ordered the Brasse fairing kit. Should arrive in 2 weeks. Will paint the tank matte black to match. Already have the Koso RX2 gauge, Driven Racing D-AXIS Bar End Mirrors, integrated tail lights, HR1 slip-on exhaust and a few other mods. Plan to wrap the pipes as well. So far I only have 400 miles on this 2009 250R. I plan to keep it and ride til the wheels falls off. I'll update this thread once I'm done.

Interesting. How much did that set you back? I told myself if ever I ruin my stock fairings, streetfighter build it is.

it would look better if you painted the radiator black. and swapped to an area P full pipe. and it needs bar end mirrors. also what's the deal with the cut tail? do you have to cut the tail?

It cost me $1700... $1200 if you don't want the seat attachment. Yeah, it's on the pricey side and hopefully he'll lower the price some day.

Area P exhaust would look ugly on it so I went with HR1 slip-on since it's compact and will wrap the headers in black. Will paint partial of the radiator but not the fins part. Perhaps later I'll order a full black radiator from China (a bit skeptic of parts from there). I have the Driven mirrors on order for $250. A bit costly for what it's worth, but looks the best and totally adjustable.

Haven't received the kit yet (2 weeks) but I'm talking to Josh about modifying the front part since I won't be using it as a back seat. I'm assuming you would need to cut the back part but I have a sawjaw for that job. Not an issue. Will update.

Since I had time today I ended up installing the Factory Pro jet kit and tuned the carbs. Also changed the throttle tube so less twist of wrist to go WOT. Runs smooth now with a bit more pull.

Here's the HR1 slip-on installed.

I agree, but the Area-P muffler would look ugly for a streetfighter build (personal preference). I spoke to the guys at Area-P and they won't sell me the headers only. Yoshimura will but I'm not sure if I can fit the HR1 slip-on to their headers. Maybe some day once I'm done with the kit I'll look into that and see if I can modify the headers to fit.

I didn't actually think that anyone would spend $1700 to make their 250 look like that. Those things hanging from the sides look all wrong.

Seems like you could do something similar by yourself for much less $$$, but whatever makes you happy.

Since I basically got my bike for free (from a friend) I'm just putting money into to give me something to do. It's more of a hobby stand point than cost savings.

Besdies, this will be my daily commute. Sad thing is, once all said and done I'd be spending more money on the 250 than my ZX6R in mods.

I just don't understand where you get $1700 from this kit? Like others said, i think you could get more and do better by yourself.

$1700 would buy a lot of useful mods.

Full exhaust $350-$600
clip ons $160
full rear sets $350
new front springs $105
emulators $140
hotbodies undertail $110
gsxr shock swap ~$60
320mm front rotor + adapter $160
Brembo 4 pot caliper $70-$120 on ebay

^that is close to $1700 in mods new, you could save a boat load hunting for used to boot.

If you want to fighter it, then skip a few things i mentioned and opt out for koso, ect...

Yeah, but then it'll still look like a Ninja 250R. I prefer a custom kit that'll turn it into something unique. Actually, my old 250 I had almost all the mods you listed and more. I have the ZX6R for the sports, and this is for street fighter. I do agree with you that if someone didn't care for looks and want performance then that would be the way to go. Also agree that this kit is a pit pricey. $800-1k would be more reasonable.

You DO have to cut the tail frame. I just took apart my fairings today just to look and compare. I guess I'll have to take out the Sawjaw.

What I do like about Brasse's kit is that he will work with you on customizing it a bit here and there. Can't talk about the quality as I haven't received it yet. Quick response time on my questions.

Today I ordered the Bandit XXR helmet to go along with the kit.

And just for kicks, this is me on the ZX6R hitting the canyons. Didn't wear my 1 piece suit that day since I was riding behind my girlfriend so was taking it slow.

I have to agree with subxero on this one for this kit is way way overpriced. I actually saw the bike in person at a motorcycle show a few weeks back and even if it was offered at $800 to $1000 it is still to pricey for what you are getting. If you have the money to spend and this is the look you want then enjoy.

Since I had time today decided to work on the 250 some more. Installed exhaust, kickstand, rear sets, shorty levers, and painted the gas tank and radiator matte black. Still need to paint the headers, install gauge, hand grips, bar end mirrors, integrated tail light, gas cap, radiator guard, saw off the tail frame, hide the back brake reservoir, slap on the kit when it gets here, etc.

I guess you could sell all the take offs to help make up for the crazy cost of the kit.

Bandit/Alien XXR. Same one that's in the movie 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo'. The other one on my ZX6R is the Scorpion EXO-r2000 Dispatch.

I was talking about the one on your ZX6R. The scorpion. Very nice. I like the way the decals make the visor seem to extend back and up. I don't know why I like it, though.

Installed grip, shorty levers, rear view mirrors, keyless gas cap, radiator guard, painted headers, and chopped off the fender with a dremel and repainted. Still waiting on the Brasse kit to arrive.

Thanks. I don't plan on putting any sliders/guards. It's a 250 so I'm sure I'll be alright with dropping it.

Oh you better be careful, it's not going to be a 250 after all that.

Got the Mobius camera in today. For the price it can't be beat ($115 including accessories). I like how small it is and not so obvious like my GoPro. Took the bike for a spin around the block after adjusting the jets. Still waiting on the Brasse kit to arrive.

Today I got the CBR 250 tire hugger in (got the idea from the other thread) and installed it to see if it fits. Fits great with no adjustment or trimming. I have 150/60/17 rear tire and there's a lot of clearance. Once I clipped the back part of the hugger to the "bracket" on the chain side, it didn't rub on the chain. Takes about 5 minutes to install. Sorry no pictures.

Update: Ordered tire hugger and front fender from Webike. Decided not to go with the Honda tire hugger. Also ordered 3"-4.5" rims. Hopefully the seller is legit and I don't get scammed.

Kit has yet to arrive. It hasn't even been shipped yet. I'll have to bug Brasse soon again.

Yeah, because 5 to 10 days is what was promised. I had him modify some parts on the kit so that's why I'm giving him time to deliver.

He said he's been overwhelmed with orders and didn't expect to be this busy. I just shot him an email right now kindly asking the shipment date. If this is delayed another week, I'll be asking for my money back.

Is it going to be all black on black or are you going to pick an accent color for some parts?

the break calipers are kinda sticking out. you going to hit them with some paint?
