Help with extra pods as signals please...

I want to wire the rear pods up in my new bike but I wanna do some different this time. I usually just take the oem signal sockets and put them in the empty pods and use them as signals. This time I wanna use a dual filament
socket and have running lights (low) and signals (high) but
after thinking about it, Im not sure how to wire it.

Do I just splice into the red wire on the oem tail light to get power for the low filaments in the pods and just hook up the high filaments in the pods to the oem signal wires? Or do I use the license plate light wire for running lights? Where do I ground the pod sockets? To the oem signal grounds or the oem tail light ground or maybe the license plate light ground?

Ok, I had everything working fine last night but now
something is wrong!
For some reason, the left signals are not working unless I
unplug the left rear signal positive wire (green). The front
left will work but not when I plug the left rear wire (green)
back in! The left rear signal will not work at all. When I
activate the left signals with everything plugged in, the
dash light dim for a second.

Hmmm...

I currently have the low filaments in the pods wired to the license plate light positive wire (red). The high filaments are wired to the signal positive wires (green and white) from the bike. The ground wires for the signals coming from the bike (green and white) are not hooked up to anything. The pod sockets are grounded by the license plate light ground wire (black).

Anyone have any ideas?
