On ebay looking for a nice LED taillight, and found this one:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/08-11...Q5fAccessories

Has the integrated turn signals and etc.....I've read the feedback and etc, just leary of buying from overseas, but thats a good deal...

Has anyone bought from overseas? thoughts?

Thanks for bringing this to my attention! Best price I've seen (closest was D2moto with 40% off for $48 + $6s&h but they won't restock).

To answer your question, half the stuff I order these days comes from Hong Kong. It takes a long time but shipping is usually cheaper than the greedy jerks selling locally (somehow). This guy is actually a San Diegan, so I can go yell at him directly if I have too.

I put in a bid on a clear one. I didn't bid near the buy-it-now price because I'd buy smoke if I was going to pay the full price.

It is smoke. See the "S" in the title and the diatribe in the description about getting the color pictured no matter what you request?

And, yes, I am aware of it. I'm saying that potential price of the clear one is much lower if it doesn't get bid up much higher ($17.xx). I put in a bid higer than $17.xx but cheap enough to still be worth saving over the smoke version. I wouldn't bid $28 on the color I don't want and have to wait 5 days longer just to save a single dollar and end up with the less desired color.

Edit: Did anyone notice that shipping is half the price for each additional item? I'm tempted to order two because I know someone else in SD will want one.

Looks just like the light Slingshot has available for me to resale at $100. There a reason why I'm going to quit selling tail lights. No matter how low I go here someone in china has it for less than half.

Maybe if you differentiate yourself by selling kits with flushmount front blinkers and LED flasher relays? Heck, you could probably buy and resell from this guy if he's actually able to make a profit at $17.xx+ $5 shipping! It'd also go well bundled with a Sportisi undertail, which is why I'm buying one.

Thats a really good price... it's to bad it's not the version I want... I prefer these:

They seem to have a lot more LED's than the one pictured which is similar to the BikeMonkey one... guess I need to do some searching to see if I can find the BikeLitez integrated LED taillight.

Actually, I think that's just the ripples in the reflector/collector and lens causing a duplication effect. According to Matt/ztrack, ALL integrated tail lights so far are from the same supplier no matter what the brand name (DMP, BikeMonkey, etc). He says that this cheap one looks just like his current supplier, thus, this is no different.

Sorry... the 2 are definitely completely different... I guess instead of that picture, how about a youtube video of it working:

Bikelitez Integrated Taillight:

Link to original page on YouTube.

Bikemonkey Integrated Taillight:

Link to original page on YouTube.

As you can see they are definitely not the same light... again, I prefer the Bikelitez because it has more LED's.

Yeah, they're different compared to the two. I'm kinda concern about it being not that visible though. But I'm still interested.

So I decided to pull the trigger on one of this, and they have an issue with the smoked ones. They emailed me saying it would take about a week or two before they could ship them, I changed it to the clear one and it was shipped on the same day.

I see that he's listing smoke ones for bidding now. I saved over $10 by bidding: I just won a clear one for $19.50 + $9.98 S&H

I figure that I can tint it if I ever need to and I had already placed my bid before the biddable smoke ones showed up. Anyway, oddly, the other clear one was bid up to $20.50 and hasn't closed yet (~5mins).

I have a bikemonkey model, actually its dmp, but mine doesn't work the same way that video does. When I turn on my signals, my brake light stays on. His alternates with the turn signal. That guy must not have it wired correctly.

It looks like the prices have gone up about $10. Now they are almost the same price as the cheapest I've seen on eBay and D2Moto (after WS40 40% off coupon) prior. Of course, D2Moto never had it in stock.

This was bound to happen until someone else decides to compete at that price.

Just got one in the mail took the gamble on it and i am impressed by the tail light. Quality of it is better than the stock, the lights are bright, and installation so far has been a snap (got too dark out to finish). The fit seems to be pretty good also (like i said too dark to finish the install.) Ill try to write up a full review of it with pics and video when I can. Shipping was quick too considering it came from china only took 4 days.

The guy is local to me here in San Diego (orders ship from China). I asked him about looking for other parts for the 250R from China and he said he'd look into it. Particularly, all the fairing kits include aftermarket solo seat cowl parts but none will sell it alone despite the fact that the market is under-served.

That said, I paid for mine over a week ago and haven't received anything.

I finally got my shipping confirmation last night over a week after payment. I wonder if that means it was still in China? Meh... the price was right (won mine for under $20). I'm happy.

I just got mine. Doesn't really fit in the Sportisi undertail without grinding something down. The lens has a melted spot on the top that looks like someone left a burning cigarette sitting on it. I recommend against the clear lens because there is also some bubbly adhesive or seal that is a bit too ugly and visible. Since he's local, perhaps the seller will want to take a look at it. I'm emailing him now.

Here's mine with the cosmetic defect.

The OEM one seems to have the same lens catches so I'm going to see if I can switch to the OEM lens.

FWFW, it's a tight fit, but the OEM tail light does fit the undertail while I'd have to crack it to force the FDB one in.

Posts: A lot.
OK, I received my replacement on Tuesday. Like everyone else, there is a small imperfection on the top edge just to the right of the middle, which is the same place where my original was missing a large chunk. I'm guessing that theycome out of the mold with some excess still attached there and they pull mine off while it was still warm, hence, why it looks melted and the replacement along with everyone else's looks like a rough break.

Anyway, they never told me what to do with the original. I attempted to release the lense to see if I could swap with OEM but it started cracking up. Because the replacement isn't going to fit my undertail either, I'd like to experiment on the original if they don't want it back.

I don't like that it just looks like a rectangle in the dark. The Bike Monkey style one looks much better. I'd like to diffuse the light somehow so that I can see the shape of the lens like I can with the OEM one. Any ideas on how to acheive this?

I need to sand down the edges to fit the undertail. I'd like to hide it with black or red electrical tape. I think red would be best if I can also paint the lens red or smoke red. I can't afford the $30-$40 lens paints I've seen online so I'm thinking about ordering some model paint, like this and this. From what I understand, even specific lens-tinting paint could use a clear coat. Will any clearcoat do?

If I can salvage the original tail light and the seller is OK with letting me keep it, I will use it instead. FWIW, I still would have wanted the replacement because I would not have to sand the top side down (it remains fully exposed in the stock tail and aftermarket undertail).
