IS IT WORTH IT?! project bike
so im trying to get rid of my 87 honda accord and trade it for this 06 ninja 250.
im new with bikes and need a few opinions by what they see in the ad if its worth it to buy or trade to get as a project bike to restore. http://vancouver.craigslist.ca/rds/mcy/5031471051.html thats the craigslist ad im trying to get into bikes and thought this would be a nice way to start er goin. lemme know thoughts and opinions please. thanks |

Looks like a project for sure, but seems a little high priced considering what needs to be done, and also a lot of unknowns.
I don't know prices for the great white north, but down here I personally wouldn't give more than a few hundred, of that. If this is your first bike, I wouldn't buy a project, I'm guessing you want ride, not waste your time and money fixing up something that might not be ready til next season, unless you have cash just laying around.

Welcome Mitch!
Please pass on this one, too many customizations. If you must get a project bike as a first bike, at least try to find one as close to stock as possible. That way when you go to the manual to fix things, the bike matches what your reading. Good luck and many wrench turners here to get solutions from.

Your first bike huh, I would look for something a little more suitable. Electrical issues are a bigger issue then you think.
