Doesnt look too bad. Personally, I would take this as an opportunity to paint the fairings any design/color you want. For the scratches, sand it out gently with super super fine sandpaper and fine steel wool. I like steel wool because it conforms to the corners of things and really smooths everything. The crack is a tough one. I think I would attempt an epoxy of some kind and see if that'll work.

Nooooooo!

This sort of thing should never happen to a clean 2005 model in Galaxy Silver #2 (the best looking and fastest color).

How did it happen?

Here's some advice for painting over scratches, but you've got a bit more than a scratch going on in those pictures.....

Here's the advice for doing a larger job, like the whole fairing...

colorrite.com sells OEM paint color. Sucks that it happened. Doesnt look like theres cracks or anything just rash? I wouldnt worry to much about it.

yeah its hardly noticeable unless you get up close. I just didn't expect a new front farring to be $500 was just planning on replacing the whole thing.

haha after my dad wrecked his concours last year, it cost him almost $1300 in plastics. If something ever happens to mine I'll be going Nekkid!

Or you could try to build your own fairing with carbon fiber sheets and epoxy resin. That's what I plan on doing if I ever, hope not, need to.

Something like this: http://www.fibreglast.com/product/3K...bric_01069/155

I've seen some on clearance for half price... very tempting especially if not all the fairings need to be replaced or you decide to only cover 50% of original.
