Tires! I need suggestions. please

ok so I live on Guam and over here it rains about once a day somewhere on the island. By rain I mean monsoon downpour, clothing soaked in 1 minute kind of rain. The road are also made of cement and coral making for a very slippery surface. I need suggestions on good tires for these kinds of roads. The roads are also littered with potholes, indentations, dead animals, live animals, you name it, its in the road…. thanks so much for the help!

I'd avoid the more sport-focused rubber (like the Pirello Diablo Rosso II's), and probably recommend either the Bridgestone BT-45 or the Dunlop GT-501's.

I just went thru a set of Duro HF918s. I couldn't stand the IRC Road Winners for the week I used them. I beat the snot out of these, $130 a set delivered, and they never skipped a beat. At 4000 miles the rear is smooth and shot, the front was cupped at 3500. Same miles I pretty much get from anything. Super rough roads, lots of gravel, sand, salt and broken pavement. Hard cornering, heavy, late braking, fast parking lot drills. Rain too.

Under a gentle rider I'd expect to double the miles of life.

I ran the Michelin pilot Road 3's http://www.bikebandit.com/michelin-p...otorcycle-tire last winter and they where about as good as you can expect in the rain. Just understand even the best rain tires require you to ride predictably and smooth, so stay alert and leave yourself plenty of following distance.
17-150/70 rear works with modded chain guard and the axle may have to be toward the rear half of adjustment.

17-110/70 front

If your worries about the rear tire clearance then have a 42t or 43t rear sprocket handy just encase you need to scoot the rear wheel back a little. The taller gearing will be nice for keeping your rmps lower at speed and don't worry a 42t is not to tall because I run the equivalent to a 39t and still think I'll go another tooth taller next time.

Oh and even with my aggressive canyon riding, and mind you I can go fast if a want to, the rear tire made it 6,500 miles and the front still had good life left.
