Bike won't start-Had to leave it at work!

So its rainy here today, and i got off work and went to start it and it wouldn't even crank over. Tried to jump it to no avail. Anyone have any ideas? Starter, etc.? The bike just hit 18k miles. Let me know what you think and I will head back up to work and try them tomorrow. THANKS!
EDIT: And by the way, all the lights light up fine, etc etc. And it did get wet today, but it wasn't sitting in the rain.

just make sure the car you jump off of is off otherwise you can fry your regulator. they're not built to regulate the amount of power a car alternator puts out... ask me how i know
sounds like something got shorted. perhaps the power somewhere or maybe something simple like a kickstand switch? check how much power your battery has. if it's full check to see if your sidestand switch is shorted. if they're good check the cdi to make sure its not drenched in water

Engine isn't turning but do you hear it clicking? If not at all, maybe someone flipped your killswitch?

+1 for kill switch. i also was at work and mine did the same thing, messed with the battery cables etc. no luck. turns out one of the other riders at work flipped my kill switch. since i never use the kill switch, it never occured to me that it could be the problem.

Not to derail, but what do you guys who don't use the kill switch do to turn off the bike? Do you just turn the key?

On the 250 I just use the key. On my Wing if I'm backed down an incline to park I use the kill switch since I have to hold the brake lever.

So it wasn't the kill switch, I still use it sometimes. I went back to work today and it started right up! Maybe something was wet and it dried out. Anyone have any idea on what could easily get wet then dry out, so I can avoid this problem again? And thanks for all the responses.

I ALWAYS park in 1st gear, so when I come to a stop I use the kill switch, then flip it back on, then turn key off. Its just a habit of mine, so when you're ready to go just put key in, turn and start.

kickstand sensor. the clutch sensor is the only other (iirc) disconnect path, but open on clutch is disconnect, so a short wouldn't keep it from starting. kickstand i believe is the only one with a closed disconnect. a short would make it think you're trying to start with the kickstand down. good way to diagnose next time it happens is to kick it into neutral and try starting it.

to the other topic in this thread, my park proceedure: roll up looking like a badass, park backwards to make a quick getaway, kill it with the kickstand, flip the kill switch off, turn the keys and lock the steering, take my helmet off so everyone can see my beautiful mug... until they see it and realize how hideously ugly and un-badass i am walk away in shame as all the ladies point and laugh
