After Countless Hours and $78,892 on my CAR?!?!?!?

Well, Im a mechanic. About 4 years ago, I bought a 2006 Forrester, to date I have spent $78,892 on it, reworking the body, suspension, engine, chasis and aftermarket parts. I've done all the work myself, and am bloody proud of it!

My only regret, is that I now have to decide between driving it and driving my ninja, both are equally bloody fun!

Any reason you stayed with the TMIC instead of going FMIC?

It was a hard decision! But the FMIC would require modding to the front left and right "STI" logos, with radiator pipes and the alloy pipes were a bit of a show for under the hood haha.. It could be done, but wasn't worth tarnishing the work id done already on the paint and body kit... Also Perrin was the only ones who wanted to the the FMIC for my Fozzie, but I chose to go with unreputable name of the STI... my 97' S15 had a v.nice FMIC though... i gotta admit... I like that style!

I know exactly how you feel. I also fell out of love of cars (past cars: MR-2, Z3, Miata, G35, 330cic, GTI, Z4, Cayenne) when I started riding this little Ninja. Most fun you'll ever get for under $4k. I wish I'd found about this sooner before wasting so much money on those pricey cars. Oh well.

I'm sure you had lots of fun with that project but I don't understand the point of droppping 80Gs on a car that's worth about 20...if you weren't a mechanic though I'm sure you wouldn't have...but its a proper car and at least you drive it on the track...
What really makes me laugh is when those ricers take their POS $1500 car and spend thousands on ugly ass visual mods and fart cans only to make it look and perform worse...and then they line up next to you revving their rustbucket...seriously? they could have just saved that money and have gotten a proper car

Love the fozzie! That's gotta be the best looking one I've see yet.

I find the same issues with my wrx... I just enjoy being on the bike so much more, even though it's much slower. To be honest, I'd sell it if I didn't like driving in the snow with it so much, and pretty much need one for the snowboarding I do.

Sounds like the rednecks who live 2 houses down from me. One of their butt buddies wanted to race me once, and I smoked him. Lol250.

It was also the build, something that I can look at and think to myself that i know every inch of this car, and that no-one on earth has anything like it!! Worth every penny in my opinion, runs well, looks awesome and cruising is a unique feeling haha..

I also enter it in motor comps, first prize @ last months was $7,000 with only having to let them do a shoot of the car in some backgrounds...! Slowly making money with it too!

Seeing how amazing your car looks makes me miss my wrx. Somebody stole it and I bought my ninja to replace it. Wish I could have had both!

I'm with you guys here. Had a '67 Mustang, MR2, 318ti, M3 and worked on them all. Then I had kids. Bought a Fozzy as a compromise and planned to mod it, but before I did, got the Ninjette. Now the Fozzie is a kid carrier only and the Ninjette is my outlet for fun and projects. Cheaper to buy and cheaper mods, and hella fun to ride, so its worked out great. But I have to say, that is the coolest Fozzie I've seen.

haha i always had the plan of having the 250 as my first bike! So I agreed on having minimal upgrades... but i keep finding new things for my ninja everyday!!

maybe I'll just end up keeping it due to all the customization I've done....

You obviously like to do stuff more than have stuff. I think you liked working on your car much more than driving it now.
So try something else before you become bored with what you do and know now.

Maybe my assesment is completely off, and I apologize if that is so. I did not mean to be rude.

HOW DARE YOU!

Haha, lol jk, I think your right...! But I still enjoy my fozzie, I take it to the track and race days/shows etc.. Picked up many MANY mAnY chicks in it too! That's also the reason I bought the ninja, to work on it too, but also have fun on it!

I enjoy both of them, but the ninja is new, so I'll go out of my way to ride it to wherever haha

I'm glad you understand what I wanted to say.

Why do girls like customized quick cars?
Maybe they just think it looks good with them inside it. Or that THEY look good inside it. More probable!
Must be some sort of subconscious "male quality calculator". Maybe centuries ago it was the biggest sword or horse one owned. Or number of sheep owned. I suppose chicken farmers were the uncool and nerdy dudes. I mean, chicken vs horse?? Horses are way better, right? Ahem. Gone, sorry...

I would say ninjette is a pathetic chick magnet. A chicken of old. Maybe not... Maybe it works like those cars that look customized but are actually just heavier and more shiny than stock cars... To conclude, the most important mod on your ninjette (from female attraction perspective), is probably "1000 cc" sticker. More than one!

And I have one serious question. Have you tried to compare little ninja lap times to your Fozzie lap times? I am curious to know how big an advantage will $80k car make. Preferably on a not too fast track.

Haha mate, I think your onto something there! I don't know, but when i asked my girlfriend why she loved my car (I'd NEVER let her drive it though!! haha) she always replied with, "I makes other bi**hes jealous, I like how shiny the engine and wheels are! And how fast we can go".. I thought it was a funny answer..

As for the 250, women usually don't understand bikes, and think they are all the same, as long as they look cool..! So they love my bike anyway, specially when I roll up to park it, girls are always looking! the leather jacket helps haha...

In terms of the ninja vs. fozzie, the fozzie has it in the bag, it does its best quarter mile in 12.6 seconds at 183kp/h, which I think is bloody respectable! Even though I set it up as a drift car, with sway bars, strut systems both front and rear, aswell as the lower arm bar in the back... I also did the coil overs, with adjustment for side ways movement..

just the way i interpreted your comment, since it wasn't very clear.

and it does surprise me how many people do recommend keeping the 250 and never upgrading, or only upgrading to a 600ish sport, no super sports. I don't disagree, but don't agree either.

I have a VERY hard time not going to town on this ninja with mods. I've been very good at holding back on the wrx, but with this, it's a lot harder due to the reduced cost for modding.

You could have bought a spanking new cayman for that kind of money, or even a used 355, both of which would never let you down on a track... Hell you could get an exige cup edition which would probably smoke both of the above on the track... Lol

No doubt your car is pretty awesome in it's own right, but it can never compete with the above mentioned vehicles

I always played with cars, then I found bikes. Then I sold my money sucking s14 and Jeep and got a cheap driver that hardly gets started all summer long. Sick foz though!
