Look what i found in my Gas Tank

hey guys been way too long since i posted anything so ill jump back in with a head scratcher. was doing some work on my carbs trying to fix a recent idle die problem and i went to take the tank off. took the petcock out and was draining the last of the gas when i heard a rattle! so grab a light and made a little net out of tape and wires and look at what i fished out of my tank!

now the nickle wasnt in there, just in the pics for a size reference. the plastic piece had a little pink stopper in the middle hole that fell out when i was fishing, and the metal piece has 8 2 stamped in the divit. idk what they are was hoping someone on here would know, the metal piece looks REALLY familiar.

also these where in there when i bought the bike i guess, yall know how well i treat my ninja i would never leave the tank open or have anythign around it when open XD.

EDIT* sorry pics where too big, fixed em.

Was thinking the plastic piece could be some kind of tank vent, but i didnt really see anything like that in the parts diagram.

Those are parts from inside the filler cap. The silver bit connects the key lock cylinder to the filler cap latch, and the orange piece is one of the two check valves inside the cap next to the lock cylinder. If your lock cylinder works fine then these are from a previous filler cap, perhaps one that was fiddled with and fell apart in the tank one day.
