license plate not flush stock fender

Hi guys,
I finally got my plate for my bike and removed the original dealer "licence applied for" plate. i noticed that the plate does not sit flush to the bracket, there are two bolts in the middle of it, so when you tighten up the plate bolts/reflectors the ends of the plate start to bend. Is this normal? Or did the dealer just have everything mounted wrong from the get go? I had a hard time putting the plate bolts back on with the springs so i left them off.

I know exactly what your taking about. When I picked up my bike last week, my dealer pointed it out to me, said he doesnt know why kawasaki does that, but then he said he has some other screws that he could use and it won't cause the same problem. So i said ok sure go ahead. It looks fine now, I can take a picture if you want when I get home. Im not sure what kind of screws/bolts they are but ill take a look and post a pic and hopefully you can figure it out or ask your dealer about it.

Maybe them bolts are just there to hold the reflector bracket on until you get your plate. Then use the plate/bolts to hold the reflector bracket on????

yea i took a look, i have the pics if u want, but i think HKr1 is right
those bolts (should be silver colored ones) are to hold the reflector bracket until you get your plate
then take those bolts out and use the bolts (my dealer used black ones) you have for your plate to hold it all together. let me know if you want the pics i have to upload from my phone still

The black bolts are what my dealer put on, you can see they hold the plate on and the reflector bracket, right through the holes in both pieces. Im sure you can just the bolts that it came with and do the same set up, idk why he used different ones.
