Can I use an RK XSO Master Link with an SO chain?

So for my track day only bike I ordered a RK 520 SO chain, and it came with a clip link. I am trying to find just a rivet master and all I am finding are XSO master rivet links. They looks like same, just wanted to sanity check before I order. Anyone know if I can use an XSO with an SO chain? Thanks!

If they are the same pitch and width I don't see an issue, we use alternate brand master links from time to time during a track day and all works out just fine.

Clip or master, pitch and width rule the day. If you search this site, you will find methods of safety wiring clip style master links.

Bottom line, don't mater which type, check often and check like your arse depends on it, because "IT DOES."

why what? On the wiki and everything else I have read it says not to trust the clip master links. I am just trying to find the correct rivet one for my chain.

I have used clip masters with success and fail. To each their own on what they want to invest their own in.

Bottom line as I am sure you already know, rivet and forget aside of a an eyeball on it before the track day. If you use the clip style, still have a look before riding for the day, but if at the track... might want to safety wire it.

Not sure why I found this pic first, but this image is MY work and will pass track day tech without question.

^^^^ fyi

That safety wiring job as good as it looks, will NOT last forever, please check it every track day. HOT, COLD, HOT, COLD, HOT, COLD makes the wire brittle and it will fail on you. DON'T let it fail.

I ordered the rivet one. This chain should last a long while. So I want to be able to not worry about it.
