Doubling up on armor... Is this a bad idea?

I've lost a few pounds since I've bought my jacket, and now the armor is loose in it and it kinda moves around (New Icon Overlord Textile, if you're wondering). To remedy this, I've considered buying another set of armor to keep the armor pressed a little more firmly against my body, and to keep it from moving around. As a bonus, I'd have double armor. While I'd love to do this with D3O, I'm broke. So, I looked at the crappiest armor I could find: http://www.ebay.com/itm/301334080250 It says CE rated, but I'm skeptical. I wouldn't trust it by itself as much as my D3O (and even then, I take it with a grain of salt), but that combined with the D30 armor in the jacket should provide better protection than just D3O, right? I don't think this would be that bad of an idea, but I'm kind of a dumbass and could use all the second opinions I can get. Thanks for reading

I like that idea. I could do that until I gain weight again (vegan metabolism is a strange thing indeed). If summer rolls around and I'm still this thin, I'll try the armor thing. Unless someone else has a decent argument against it concerning safety.

Gain more weight?

Seriously, if you can still move and you are comfortable I don't see why you can't. Unless, it puts you in an awkward position causing a safety issue.

I'd think the biggest issue would be range of motion. Armor is bulky and doesn't move with your body the way muscle/fat does.

Another big issue would be heat. You're adding a lot of insulation.

Simpler to just go get a jacket that fits.

^^^^ Hit the weight room!!!
Seriously though, more is not necessarily better than properly fitted safety gear. Also I don't think stacking armor would give a good enough fit to be as good as as single set properly fitted. Applying more padding underneath is a better interim solution in my opinion.

Range of motion is definitely something to consider. Heat, I'm always freezing no matter what. And, while its simpler to get one that fits, the central driving factor behind this idea is that I'm broke. I think for $17, that crappy armor is worth a try.

Also important is that the pads stay where they should: the elbow pads should not move around if you were to fall.

You could always cut piece(s) of foam to put between the pad and the jacket.

In some cases, yes. Having two back protectors in my leather jacket just possibly saved me from a much worse broken back.

I've said many many times since November 8 how glad I am I had on 2 back protectors that day.

highly depends on comfort and mobility if that is a good idea or not.

I've heard that the second one can cause enough friction to ruin both...
