Plane crashes at West Virginia Air Show

First the Reno show air crash and now a second one just today. Just horrible. My hearts go out to family and friends of those lost. Let's hope no spectators were hurt or worse in this latest incident. Alex, feel free to merge this with the other thread if you feel it warrants.

Wtf.

Is this a bad month to get on an airplane or what?

The Russian KHL team, then these two airshows...

Maybe it's time they put these planes in a museum and stop flying them.

More reason to not attend airshows, imo.

RIP to the pilot.

Really? I am pretty sure you're at greater risk riding a motorcycle than going to an airshow. Just sayin.

Or driving a car for the sake of argument

but i think some of these airplaines belong in a museum, not the air. leave the airshows to the more modern planes maybe?

I think all planes should be able to fly as long as they are in good working condition. They should just have stricter pre-flight inspections and for the crowd to be far enough away from the airstrip where the planes are flying. If the grand stands in Nevada were a few hundred feet further back then maybe no spectators would have been killed. But still, there are always risks at air shows when pilots are pushing their limits and showing off there skills. It's like if we all went out on our ninjas and pushed them to there limits or our limits as riders. Some of us will make mistakes that could be deadly. Accidents happen.
