Pirelli Diablo Rosso, Bridgestone BT-016, Sizes?
Hi all. Thinking about new tires. Anyone use the Pirelli Diablo Rosso? I'm checking these and the BT-016. Would anyone happen to have a comparison of these two tires? For the Pirelli's I would be getting 110/70 or 120/60 front, 150/60 rear. Bridgestone's would be 110/70 front, 150/60 rear.
Thank you for any assistance. |

Just a suggestion...
http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=57081 I also have a coupon code for an additional 10% off the Pirelli's at motorcyclesuperstore.com if you choose to get them there. Best prices! Good luck!

Thank you for the reply! Yours is the one post I found. Would you happen to have any pictures of the tires mounted? Did you have to remove or modify the chain guard? Why did you go with 120/60 instead of 110/70?
Any further assistance would be appreciated. |

I don't have any pictures of it right now, but i'll see what i can do
I didn't have to remove or modify the chainguard, it fitted right in there. After reading abit on forums and checking out tire manufacturers webpages, it seemed to be more usual to have a 120/60 tire with a 150/60, so i just went with that. |

I'm pretty sure this will be the case with any 150/60 no matter the brand. I believe it has been determined that the BT-016 is the narrowest of the 150 series tires.

The BT016s pinch less on the rear rim. I'd say the Pirelli's pinch the most, with the Michelins in the middle. |

Mine is super close to rubbing. Double-check your adjustment marks to make sure they are identical. Small changes in the adjusters will swing the front of the tire either to or away from the chain guard.

My BT 016 does rub (the center groove). I'm going to dremel off a notch for clearance. I do have a 15T sprocket which probably causes less clearance (there's about 1/4 inch of clearance, but it rubs when moving). |

Edit: Regarding the Pirellis pinching the most, is that for the Diablo Rossos? I found a post of yours (http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showp...3&postcount=19) but the thread didn't specify the Rossos. Thanks for any further assistance. Last futzed with by lux; October 9th, 2010 at 12:14 AM. |

will a 160/60/17 Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa fit? I know nothing about buying tires for a bike, that is the smallest rear they have to offer I can find

my bt-016s don't rub, but just to make extra sure I put a couple washers in behind the chain guard to make sure it would clear.
