[visordown.com] - Triumph Tiger Explorer specs revealed

WE already know there are six variations of the new Triumph Tiger Explorer but with the launch taking place this week, Triumph has just released some more details about the bike, along with specs for each model.

As a reminder, the six variations are: XC, XCx, XCa, XR, XRx and XRt. Each is powered by the same 1215cc three-cylinder engine with shaft drive. Power is at a claimed 139ps at 9,300rpm, with 90.7lb/ft claimed torque at 6,200rpm. Triumph also says the 2016 Tiger Explorer has 5% better fuel economy than the model is replaces.

In terms of technology, the Tiger Explorer family includes cornering ABS and traction control, five riding modes (road, rain, off-road, sport & custom) and a hill hold function. It’s also got an inertial measurement unit which measures pitch, yaw, roll and acceleration across three-planes (vertical, lateral and longitudinal).

The XCX, XCA, XRX, XRT models feature WP semi-active suspension with auto-levelling rear preload and a torque assist clutch.

The XRx and XCx models will have a low seat option.

There’s no word on price yet, but we’re riding the bike this week and will let you know as soon as we find out. Our first ride review will be up soon.

Here are the specs from Triumph:
