A quick rundown of my farkles..

I'm going to post a few more pictures, but for now, just a side shot..

I bought my 2009 Candy Thunder Blue Ninjette in October, and the only modification was an integrated taillight with a fender eliminator kit.. Everything else was stock..

In the time that I've had my beloved Ninjette, I've tried to dress it up as much as possible to my liking.. I'm going to list off all of the additions, and over the next week or so, I'm also going to attach links to the items that I added in case anyone might be interested in the same or similar items.. A bit weird, but I'm going to list the items below grouped by color, and at the end, a few items that I have yet to install.. LOL!!

BLUE items
-----------
Kawasaki OEM Rear Seat Cowl
Scott's Rear Hugger
Musarri Slip-On Exhaust
HotBodies DB Windscreen
EMGO Front Footpegs
Shorty Levers w/ Ninja 250R etching
Targa Aluminum Heat Shield
Frame Hole Cap Covers
Vortex 43T CAT5 Aluminum Rear Sprocket
Swingarm Spools
O-Ring Chain 520x106
BikeIt Aluminum Sprocket Nuts
ZX Aluminum Bar Ends
Rim Tape

Non-Blue Items
------------
BlackPath Frame Sliders
Proton Flush-Mount Signals
Ninja Tank Pad
Shorai LiFePO Battery
USB Charger
2x LEDGLOW Million-color LED Lights
RAM Mount for iPhone6 Plus

NOT INSTALLED
---------------
OPT7 Aura 10-pc LED Kit
Blue Handlebar Grips
Vortex 15T Front Sprocket (Not Installed)
Sportisi Front Intake Cover
Michelin Pilot Street 110/70 and 140/70
650R Mirrors

Now, the reason I listed all this is two-fold.. First, it shows just how much can be done on a motorcycle to personalize it, and second, to show just how much money can be so easily spent on said farkles.. LOL!!

There's so much more that I could do, would like to do, and intend to do.. LOL!! There are a few rather awesome items out there for the '08-'12 Ninjette, such as many of the bodywork pieces from Indonesia.. The trouble is getting them here to the states, and having them painted properly in the true Kawi colors.. Candy Thunder Blue isn't easy to match, and going through ColorRite will cost you an arm, a leg, and your first born.. In particular, there are some awesome headlight cowl and taillight fairing kits..

I think I'm finally done farkling the Blue Meanie though.. I still have a few bits sitting here at home that I haven't installed yet, and I've got it to where I'm very satisfied with how she looks and want to focus on my next bike, which will be a ZX-6R.. I don't plan on getting rid of my 250R though, as I intend to turn it into a track bike or maybe even turn it into a show bike if money permits.. I never say never though, so if the right offer comes along, I'll would consider parting ways with it..

I've thought about converting to EFI, but decided against it.. It's so much easier to just step up than to go through the hassle.. The same could be said for some of those wonderful toys from Indonesia.. They look gorgeous, but what would the end cost be to import them, have them color-matched, etc.. It just doesn't make financial sense to me.. I was born on the wrong continent.. LOL!!

That's because they ARE.. Well, the treads are.. I also painted the Michelin logo in blue.. I used silver on the Michelin Man and the Pilot logos.. TirePenz.com is where I picked up the product, and it's pretty easy to use..

It's hard enough just getting Sportisi parts in the USA, those Indonesian body kits are like trying to buy a Unicorn.

Personally I want the Ducati 848 kit, I think it would look flippin' awesome painted in Candy Thunder Blue, maybe with some Angel Eyes projector headlights, and some Arlen Ness Guardian LED turn signals.

You're putting some untested substance between tread and tarmac going from xxx speed . No where on their site do they have test results. Looks cool but seems a bit sketchy around the turns.

I'm not trying to dog you but is this product safe?

I'm tempted to paint some lettering on my tires.

Since when are the insides of the tread grooves in contact with the pavement during a turn?

He didn't paint the contact patch surface of the tire itself, he only painted in the tread lines and on the sidewall, both surfaces that don't touch the ground at all until the tire goes completely bald and by that point you've got bigger problems than some paint in the tread grooves.

And the stuff has been around for years on bikes.

i'm no tire expert but i would think you want to keep all areas of the tread free and optimal. The grooves can shed water and it can shed dirt and other gunk but with an extra layer of un tested film, it only takes one time to eat it.

The tires flexes so i don't know whats going to happen - any experts here?

Considering the application is a single layer applied evenly within the tread area itself, I foresee no issues as far as water dispersion or handling of debris.. It's not a film.. It is a layer of paint, more or less.. There is no extra tackiness to the area on which it is applied.. As Kurgan said, if I ever get to the point that my tire is so bald that I'm touching paint to pavement, I have bigger things to worry about..
